Spain's soccer team, along with members of the Spanish Soccer Federation, are in Mexico to offer the 2010 World Cup trophy to Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Well, that’s nice. What happens to the actual trophy? Does it get left at the Shrine to Our Lady? Or, does the winning team take the trophy home and leaves a note, or an offering?

I second your comment — if that was a sincere prayer on the part of the head of the Spanish delegation, Holland didn’t have a chance.

I would not have believed this of Spain. I hven’t been there lately, but i feared that under Zapatero, it had become anti-Catholic to the bone. This is a pleasant piece of news. thank you
