Rosary to Halt Construction of NYC Mosque (Catholic Caucus)
myself | 08/12/2010 | myself

Posted on 08/12/2010 11:55:14 AM PDT by Pyro7480

Pope St. Pius V trusted in the power of Our Lady's intercession through the Holy Rosary to save Christendom. He asked Christians everywhere to pray the Rosary for the victory of the united Christian fleet against the Mohammedan Turks. On 7 October 1571, at the Battle of Lepanto, the Turkish fleet was defeated, and the Catholic Church now celebrates the feast of Our Lady of Rosary every year on October 7.

After World War II, Fr. Petrus Pavlicek of Austria led a Rosary Crusade to save his country from communist domination. In 1955, the Soviet forces occupying their zone of Austria pulled out.

Our Lady's powerful intercession can stop a lesser but none the less important planned cause- the construction of 13-story Mohammedan center/mosque 2 blocks away from Ground Zero in New York City.

Please pray the Rosary on the feast of the Assumption with the intention that this mosque isn't built.

August 15 is also the 90th anniversary of the "Miracle on the Vistula," when the outnumbered Polish army drove back the invading Bolshevik army. Many of the Polish soldiers saw a vision of Our Lady during the battle.

Where did he say to specifically pray the Rosary?

My husband wrote a letter to Jindal suggesting he do just that [recite rosaries regarding the spill], but to my knowledge, prayers were said according to the particular church's denomination on the day of prayer he assigned. (However, Bobby -- and his family -- were most likely saying a rosary or two.)

Okay, I remembered it wrong. I know that he called for a Day of Prayer, (which I participated in BTW), but I don’t remember him saying to pray the Rosary. He is Catholic, and I assumed.

My main point is that governors across the south called for a Day of Prayer to heal the Gulf of Mexico and THE OIL IS GONE. Flame Away.

Every day on the Daily Readings thread!

Rosary for the Bishops Campaign celebrates six months of prayer, global expansion

Pray a Rosary each day for our nation.

Pray the Rosary

1.  Sign of the Cross:  In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

2.  The Apostles Creed:  I BELIEVE in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

3.  The Lord's Prayer:  OUR Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

4. (3) Hail Mary:  HAIL Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and in the hour of our death. Amen. (Three times)

5. Glory Be:  GLORY be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Fatima Prayer: Oh, my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of your mercy.

Announce each mystery, then say 1 Our Father, 10 Hail Marys, 1 Glory Be and 1 Fatima prayer.  Repeat the process with each mystery.

End with the Hail Holy Queen:

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve! To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears! Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us; and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus!

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Final step -- The Sign of the Cross

Amen. And I warmly welcome our "separated brethren" who wish to join us in this effort. The Rosary should be a prayer for all Christians, not just Catholics.

AAM -

This Rosary is beautiful! I love the music and the option to learn the prayers in Latin. It’s also neat how the color of each bead seems to float away as you click the next one - sorta like prayers ascending to heaven...

I looked around online a bit but could not find the picture you described. However, I did find this wonderful picture of Governor Jindal and his family:
