Before getting too hot under the collar, check out the last couple of books she wrote, very sensitive takes on the early life of Christ as she imagined it.

But particularly check out the "afterword" in this book "Christ the Lord" next time you're in a bookstore. She goes into great detail about how the PhDs in religion she consulted at all the fanciest universities showed poor faith themselves and outright apostasy and contempt for orthodoxy.

Unfortunately, the afterword is not at this site, but I recommend it to every Christian. It's better than the novel itself.

She may not be able to find a home in the orthodox churches of her first choice, because they're, well, orthodox.

She probably would be happier with some watered-down, politically liberal Episcopalians who ordain practicing lesbians.

But she won't be as happy with their doctrine. Once you start compromising, you don't stop.

Most seminaries don’t gives a rat’s rear end about orthodoxy and spend the first year of M.Div. and M.Th. studies forcing the orthdoxy out of their students. Worse, you can’t get a PhD in Religion by being orthodox. You have to discover something NEW, and preferably pro-homosexual, to be granted that degree.

Yes, that was a good book, although one could tell that she still hadn’t really accepted the parts of the Faith that didn’t fit with some of her other views.

I suspect she never met anybody who could sit her down and help her to understand spiritually and intellectually what it was all about. Or perhaps she was too proud to take counsel. She had an emotional reconversion, and now it’s worn off.

Prayers are definitely in order for her.

"Christ the Lord" was actually a very good book. Deeply flawed, but worth reading.

I exchanged some email correspondence with her after reading "Christ the Lord." She was a truly sweet kind soul.

Pray for this poor confused woman. Its been a struggle for her. Her soul is in jeopardy. Just pray for her.
