Okay, I’ll bite. Who (or what) is Anne Rice? And why should I give a rat’s rear end what she does or doesn’t believe??

Anne, you're talented, smart and creative. I hope your eyes open up to see what is right there for you.

I quit being a Christian. I'm out. In the name of Christ, I refuse to be anti-gay. I refuse to be anti-feminist. I refuse to be anti-artificial birth control. I refuse to be anti-Democrat. I refuse to be anti-secular humanism. I refuse to be anti-science. I refuse to be anti-life. If she thinks that's "being a Christian," she was never a Christian to begin with -- she just bought what the mainstream media SAYS ABOUT Christianity.
Deep, she's not.

Anne Rice as written in recent years in defense of Christianity. She's highly conflicted in that her son that she adores, her only family, is homosexual. And she buys into the canard that those who would deny two homosexuals the rite of sacramental marriage "hate" gays.
She also is struggling with some mean diabetes.
So I don't hear a renunciation of Jesus Christ here, but of Chritianity and Christians.

“I refuse to be anti-life.”
That makes absolutely no sense. Democrats ARE the anti-life party.

Anti-secular humanism...it's a religion, Anne, and one must have the Triune God first.
The anti-gay, anti-feminist, etc. stuff is understandable if you mean: "I don't want to be required to hate these people." You aren't. In fact, the call is to minister to them by showing the love of Christ.
If you mean:"I want to affirm what they are doing.", then you are actively telling them to continue a lifestyle that is either killing them and/or leading them down a false path.
Anti-Democrat and anti-life are contradictory. The Democratic party affirms the killing of babies. It is anti-life.
If you mean "hate democrats", then there's no call to do that.

If she is leaving Christianity and or thinks it is wrong, why would she say, “In the name of Christ”?
Seems to me she is admitting she knows who and what Jesus is but is openly saying God is wrong.
She is not saying she is an unbeliever, she is saying I am against God.
Shocking prideful words to say the least.
