Agere is correct with regard to Church dogma. None of us can state that any act is a “mortal sin” in each and every situation as none of us can see inside another’s heart and mind, to wit: “although we can judge that an act is in itself a grave offense, we must entrust judgment of persons to the justice and mercy of God.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, s. 1861) It is not EVER ours to judge whether an act is a mortal sin or a venial sin. That judgment is left to God alone.

Of course we cannot judge and state that positively on our own. That would be reading the person’s mind. But it does appear that, with abortion, all three are present.
