That’s curious ... I put the spaces around the “ = “ to make it easier to read as I’m typing; checking out the “View Source” option shows that the FR editor takes them back out when actually doing the post.
Very interesting. You’ve shown there are many ways to oppress the poor, and endless depravity in doing so. There also are different types of poverty. Of course we think of the lack of food, shelter or medical care. But there are those who are spiritually and emotionally poor, abused in some way, very lonely and confused in a culture that breeds loneliness and confusion.
JMO But I take the Sin of Sodem as hetro and homo sexual whoring around.
Fornicating is fornicating no matter who is doing it.
How do they get this category ? What is their source ???

In today’s first reading you have the reference of the Lord saying to Abraham, the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah cries out to heaven.
Right there in Scripture. They aren’t new. People don’t usually think of categorizing these sins together....that’s all.
Just wages — the parable of the laborers who come in at different times.
I don’t think I need to reference specific scripture about the poor; Jesus always talked about “blessed are the poor.”
And murder is expressed in the parable of the vineyard owner trying to collect his fair share from the tenants — the tenants in greed kill the messengers as well as the son.
Ples there are many stories in the Old Testament about murder. The epitome of murder for me, however, is the story of the Crucifixion of Christ, innocent yet murdered.

The Bible. Each of the Bible verses in the note includes a statement that the cry went up to the Lord.

James 5 - Behold, the wages you withheld from the workers who harvested your fields are crying aloud, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.

All sin is an offense to God... We have to be cautious not to look at ourselves and say “we are not THAT bad”
God said liars will not get into heaven... yea we are all THAT bad :(
What surprises me; (maybe I’m not thinking this through sufficiently) is that abuse of children isn’t on the list. Jesus seemed particularly concerned with the welfare of children.
Pardon me if this is a dead discussion; just a thought.
Would not that be included in #1 above?
