We never know what tests of faith lie ahead for each of us. Do we have the faith of the martyrs? We cannot know until we face such test.

When I hear someone claim they know the result of their judgement, it sounds to my ears like someone who is claiming they already passed without taking the test.

There is a thing called a “joke.”

In “jokes” people play with clashing meanings of words and with unexpected juxtapositions of ideas.

Jokes also usually presuppose that the speaker is not to be taken literally, and sometimes not seriously at all.

Recognizing jokes is a useful social skill.
