Oh, I think we keep our kids way too sanitary. I let my boys play in the dirt, and I’m sure they ate things off the floor. I didn’t encourage it, but heck, we lived a long time before the modern age. Certainly I’m glad we don’t smell like people did before baths, and I do wash my hands before cooking (and I keep a clean kitchen) but that being said, I think it’s bad not to ever challenge your immune system.

My gran used to say, regarding living in the country, “We’ve all got to eat a peck of dirt before we die,” meaning it was impossible to be as sanitary and you’d like.

Well, I better stop posting then because I am really really really anti-vampire. I'm also anti-vampire; however I'm generally pro-werewolf. Presently, I'm undecided concerning zombies.

Your cat example doesn't work since a person's autistic child would not be an adversary to the parent.
The vampire cult is an adversary to Christian belief which evidently you and the ones making fun of vampires share. I don't see how anyone who is not a vampire cult member could be antagonized by the ridicule of vampire cult beliefs.

“Let me get this straight! In order to post on this thread I would have to be either FOR or AGAINST vampirism?”
You’d have to be for it before you were against it!

Thanks for the explanation. This thread looks so silly, yet it’s dealing with such sickening demonic stuff. I’ll stick to Catholic Caucus threads in the future and hope they are policed well.

I grew up with Dark Shadows, so my view of Vampires was ambivalent.
To: mlizzy
At least in the catholic caucus threads, the vampire freepers can’t come in unless they are invited.

But when in doubt, only post what you are for and not what you are against. I am for being against vampires :-)

Have you forgotten the hotness of Barnabas Collins?Oh my gosh, I HAD forgotten. "Dark Shadows" every afternoon after school. I wasn't allowed to watch it which made it triply alluring so I'd go home with friends as much as possible :-)

I think maybe zombies smell bad, so I’m certainly against zombies.... Wolfmen probably smell like dogs and have fleas and stuff. That could be an issue.

I watched Dark Shadows all the time, but if I recall correctly that doctor unVampired Barnabas. So, clearly, being a vampire was a bad thing. And, altho he was supposed to be somewhat sexy, he also looked kind of odd.

Have you forgotten the hotness of Barnabas Collins?Oh my heck, Dark Shadows! I was not allowed to watch so it became even more alluring. I would go to my friends' houses after school and watch there :-)
