I think it really began with Ann Rice and Interview with a Vampire.

I just have to say I don’t get the whole vampire thing. When I was a kid they were bad and scary! They were afraid of crosses and Holy water, so I assume they were of the devil. What happened to suddenly make them sexy and *ok*?

I think there are many people who are afraid to look evil in the face, so make every attempt to blur what evil is.

The way the rules read, dissent is not acceptable.
Is that right?
I mean, if are against vampirism for our religious beliefs or the act of it for fear of propagation of germs and infections that’s not okay?
If that is the case shouldn’t this be called the “singing to the choir” forum? Not to be a smart alec, just it’s seems that way.

Dissent is allowed on “ecumenical” RF threads. Antagonism is not.
To: Religion Moderator
Well, that is a difficult job you have because if dissent is disagreement but antagonism is provoking, then it is the reader of a particular post which decides. I might receive a post of descent but it might provoke me because I do not like its content where as a different reader might be in total agreement.

Thank you. I was just looking at the exchange between the original poster and another and wanted to make sure it was okay to post.
Thank you for all you do.

That is probably why the most strident anti’s boycott the “ecumenical” RF threads.
To: svcw
you might even receive a post that finds your belief on the descent... LOL

I think one should be careful in taking a pro vampire stance, it could come back and bite them...

RM, is there a caucus that allows Christians of all faiths to discuss matters of faith without silly/distracting/antagonistic-type comments, which poke fun of the Christian belief that the occult is of Satan.
