Are you really expecting a Christian to believe that satan tells someone to pray and sacrifice for others and not for them to sin and somehow by saying this it's going to trick them into losing their soul?

Depends on who or what he's getting them to trust in. If he gets their attention and trust away from Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith,.... Yes.

If he can get people to think that the good works they are doing are going to save them, his mission is complete. They won't trust Christ because they won't think that they need to.

If he can convince them that Mary is enough, that's who they'll trust in. They won't go to Jesus, the only one who can REALLY save them.

Again, I find I have to agree with Lewis on this one. If Satan can keep you bound for hell by being fat, dumb, and happy, what's it to him if you enjoy this life and care for your fellow man and do all kinds of useless good deeds.

Jesus said to those who appealed to their good works and miracles that He never knew them. Good works may make one comfortable for a season, but since what we see is temporal and what is unseen is eternal, what is unseen is what is critical. Those who depend on good works alone to please God are going to feel good about themselves for the few years they have in this planet, will make others feel good for their few years on this planet, and then it's all over. For good.

Being that Jesus IS God He already knew what satan would do, so Jesus was NOT tempted anyway

Of course He was. The Bible tells us He was tempted.

Luke 4[1] And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the desert, [2] For the space of forty days; and was tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing in those days; and when they were ended, he was hungry. [3] And the devil said to him: If thou be the Son of God, say to this stone that it be made bread.

Hebrews 2:17-18 For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement forthe sins of the people. Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Hebrews 4:15For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin.

“”Depends on who or what he’s getting them to trust in.””

If you’re praying and denying oneself for the good of others you’re being Christlike. It’s beyond me how you could think the devil would want someone to be like thi

“”Of course He was. The Bible tells us He was tempted..... and various Bible quotes””

If you think the verses you quoted means that Jesus had any inclination to sin by being tempted by the devil this would make him imperfect.Do you realize how heretical this is,dear sister? Chalk up anther grave error in understanding scripture on your own!

Someone could try and tempt you to jump off a bridge but I highly doubt you would even consider doing it,therefore the tempter had NO effect or ANY chance of getting you to jump.

Christ knew EVERYTHING about the devil from eternity.

You seem to have trouble grasping this?

I have limited time to post til later this week due to busy schedule.

I wish you a Blessed Evening ,dear sister!

It's the ageless quest of vanity

I WILL

I CAN

I.. I.. I.

He neither needs nor wants our help. If that were the case, Christ need not have died. What He wants is our FAITH. IN THE FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST
