"Vatican Officials" say a lot of things. This man who is said to be an expert in demonology also claims to be an expert on the phenomenon of intelligent extraterrestrial life. We say they are supernatural in origin and the appearance of strange and foreboding lights in the sky are unfavorable signs.

Monsignor Corrado Balducci, a theologian member of the Vatican Curia (governing body), and an insider close to the Pope, has gone on Italiannational television five times, including recent months, to proclaim that extraterrestrial contact is a real phenomenon. Balducci provided an analysis of extraterrestrials that he feels is consistent with the Catholic Church's understanding of theology. Monsignor Balducci emphasizes that extraterrestrial encounters "are NOT demonic, they are NOT due topsychological impairment, they are NOT a case of entity attachment, but these encounters deserve to be studied carefully." Since Monsignor Balducci is a demonology expert and consultant to the Vatican , and since the Catholic Church has historically demonized many new phenomena that were poorly understood, [Like the historical propensity for the press to be leftist deceivers who herald new phenomena like Communism as saviours of mankind.] his stating that the Church does not censure these encounters is all the more remarkable.

Balducci revealed to a visiting American professional that the Vatican is closely following this phenomenon quietly. My informant originally surmised that the Vatican is receiving much information about extraterrestrials and their contacts with humans from its Nunciatures (embassies) in various countries.

OF COURSE, AS SCRIPTURE, WE BELIEVE IT.

However, some Proddys are more hierarchical about it and others are the opposite extreme without having even any designated spiritual leader of any kind. Lay persons take turns leading meetings.

I’ve learned a lot from all types—even at an Episcopal Cathedral in Spokane.

However, I’ve also seen enough to believe that the corrupting power of position in religious institutions is not at all a preference of God. He’d rather have no hierarchy whatsoever than THAT, imho.

I’ve rarely seen even a large congregation avoid putting the Pastor on a pedestal. And most Pastors seem to like their pedestals.

PH: No. Chief Vatican Astronomer, Father Funes of the Vatican Observatory says that the presence of Extraterrestrial life means there are more souls in a universe filled with life who can give glory to God and that this doctrine does not conflict with the Catholic religion.

The fact this press release came out in the Official Vatican Newspaper L’Osservatore Romano means it is approved by the Pope himself. So the Catholic church is positioning itself for what? Are the Jesuits in the Observatory in Arizona looking to the ‘Second Coming’ or something else?

Father Funes calls the ETs our brothers and sisters in the article which means that he is not talking about the Zeta greys, but people who must look like us.

He also adds dogma or new doctrine into the mix when he says that Jesus did not need to die for them because aliens were not born with “original sin, only humans were.” I think this is pretty revolutionary and a sign of things to come.

I have tried to respond to several of the pings to this thread and so far after I type something out I just discard it because this is all speculative and I just can’t get myself worked up about it, try as I might.

If there are rational creatures on other planets there’s no reason to assume that they are fallen like we are except for the fact that the Church has always believed that when Adam fell all creation fell with him. However, if these supposed alien rational creatures are not descendants of Adam then they can’t very well have a share in the fall now can they? Then again they may have their own Fall, but we don’t know that yet... if there’s anything TO know.

Who knows, there may be entire races out there in space who possess the preternatural gifts, infused knowledge and supernatural grace. I doubt it though. We’d know it as soon as they showed up and we wouldn’t have anything to fear from them.

I suppose one could go really nuts and suppose that the Garden of Paradise/Eden wasn’t actually on Earth and Noah’s Ark is a corrupted allegory for space colonization and all alleged rational creatures are descended from Adam... but that’s just crazy.

1. Not interested in folks being fearful and worked up. Scripture repeatedly says FEAR NOT—TRUST IN GOD.

I’m humbled and blessed by your kind summary.

The Shroud of Turin impressed me as likely authentic because of the pollen grain studies long ago—from plants unique to the Holy Land and common of that era 2000 years ago.

It doesn’t influence my faith as my faith is secure on Scripture and on what Christ has done and does in my life by His Blood and Spirit.

However, it’s a nice punctuation point illustrating the Resurrection and the affirmation of the Gospel narratives.
