For those uncomfortable confronting Leftists with the Natural Law/Unalienable Rights basis of our founding and Constitution, try this:
Natural Law is the reflection God's law as discovered by man, directing us to our natural good.
Examples are the laws of motion, calculus discovered by the right reason of Sir Isaac Newton. There are also the rights to defend ourselves, families and property. Man does not pass laws to make these lawful, for they are derived from God's law and are superior.
Natural Law is real and man and nations get into trouble when they violate it.
Ask an engineer to design a product using F=MV rather than F=MA.
In totalitarian states, the people are deprived of their Natural Rights. The Soviet Union imploded because the people had no state granted rights to property, self defense, speech, press, jury trial, etc, in violation of Natural Law. The people were miserable, cruel, drunk and the state fell because it violated man's basic nature.
