It is hard to take the poster serious in their efforts attacking The Book of Mormon for not being Christian when their Grammar shows the true Intellect behind the attacks e.g. “ How to Book of Mormon is Not Like the Bible (And Why We Should Celebrate That!)”
Maybe they should check out Anti-Mormonism for Dummies!!!!

What a witty retort.
The BoM is such a glittering example of intellect and proper writing techniques.
Thanks for pointing that all out.

So just a question, do you agree with the premise or not?

It’s interesting that you would attack the poster on his/her grammar, yet you show a lack of knowledge of same by capitalizing words that should not be capitalized (i.e. Grammar and Intellect).

Where to begin on this ridiculous post!

The criticism of the grammar! of the OP, "take the poster" (singular) "when their" (multiple)...Grammar (not proper noun, but capitalized), Intellect (not proper noun, but capitalized...

That's just a start!...criticism of the OP's title of the thread, which by FR rules is the title of the original article, written by "a mormon Professor" (when their Grammar shows the true Intellect!!) published in Meridian Magazine!

Note the TITLE!

It's hard to take this poster serious when obviously needed is...

grammar for dummies

I have a BETTER idea!!

KJV
 Galatians 1:6-9
 6.  I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
 7.  Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
 8.  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
 9.  As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

ANYBODY???

Like this fine looking fellow???

2 Corinthians 11:12-15
 12.  But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
 13.  For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
 14.  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
 15.  Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Like THESE guys??

17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!

Ephesians 2:1-2
1.  And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

1 Corinthians 4:17
For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

1 Corinthians 11:2
Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.

2 Thessalonians 2:15
Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

2 Timothy 1:13
Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 3:14-15
 14.  But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
 15.  And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Instead of attacking the poster, who did not write the article, how about ‘mormonism for dummies’ for the LDS author of the piece (and title)? That would make more sense.

I think it is somewhere in the BoM, Book of Nephi I believe.

“Behold, and it came to pass that as it was foretold the typographical errors of thine enemies shalt prove unto the believers that this is a true and good history of our saviors activities somewhere between Upper State New York and the Tip of Chile.”

I don't see how anyone can doubt the Book of Mormon with such proof...

Where do I get a copy of the “How to Book of Mormon”? I’m kind of a do-it-yourself man.

It is hard to take the poster serious in their efforts attacking The Book of Mormon for not being Christian when their Grammar shows the true Intellect behind the attacks...

(Thanks for making my point about the Book of Mormon for me. There is something "lacking" when the Book of Mormon has had to undergo over 4,000 edits since 1830, isn't there?)

And even after all those edits, why do we see this "standard grammar" in the Book of Mormon if it came from God's prophetic word and translated by his power?

..."dearly beloved them"...(Alma 27:4)
..."more history part" (2 Nephi 4:14)
..."more wicked part" (4 Nephi 4:40)
..."the most capital parts" (He. 1:27)
..."more settled parts" (Hel. 3:23)
..."more part" (used 3 Nephi 7:26; Hel. 15:5-6; Hel. 16:6, 10; Hel. 6:31,32,38; Alma 53:2; 1 Nephi 22:4; 1 Nephi 19:2)

Why couldn't Smith get the tenses right as he "re-jumpstarted" the process after Martin Harris kept 116 pages?

If you look at the dates at the bottom of these pages, you'll see Smith, the bad narrator he was, got the tenses wrong in these verses: 1 Nephi 10:10-11; 1 Nephi 22:21; 2 Nephi 2:10; Mos. 18:20

And Smith as rookie narrator just seemed to have all kinds of "oh, yeah" Moments in forgetting he was talking about supposed "Jews" in the earliest part of this process (see 1 Nephi 3:19; 4:36; 5:16; chapter 7)

Well, Colleen Ralson, in Color Me Confused, Watchman Fellowship, 1988, identifies these on p.7 of her booklet:
1 Nephi 3:19: Smith says "Language of our fathers." Ralson: "These folks were Jews -- not Egyptians, remember." IOW, if they were using the "language of our fathers," as Smith said, then why was it all supposedly written in "Reformed Egyptian?"
1 Nephi 4:36: Smith says "...we were desiroius that he should tarry with us for this cause, that the Jews might not know concerning our flight into the wilderness, lest THEY should pursue us and destroy us" Ralson says: "These folks were Jews. Has the author forgotten?" [IOW, if this person is a Jew, why is he using "they"-"us" language as if the Jews were "they"??? They were Jews, too! Remember???]
1 Nephi 5:16: Nephi "did discover the geneology of his fathers." Ralson says: Why did he not know? He supposedly had lived in Jerusalem all his life and genealogy was public record. Ever Jew knew who his fathers were."
1 Nephi 7: Ralson says: "I find it amusing that they were heading to a new land to start a new race of people -- and they forgot to take wives."

(That's OK. Smith "made up" for this later on -- by taking as many wives as possible!)
