If God was once man, which they also teach, then He lived on an earth, and had to live the ‘mormon’ gospel so he could ‘progess’ to godhood and had a God of his own to worship.

IF??

Joseph Smith taught:

"It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the character of God...
He was once a man like us; ...
God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did"

(Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp. 345-46)

The “real Christ” would not approve of your evil statements about me and my faith.

The words of SCRIPTURE must REALLY tear at ones soul...

 Galatians 1:6-9
 6.  I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
 7.  Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
 8.  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
 9.  As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

I stand by my statement, because you post what you do about your belief in Jesus, which is contrary to what lds teach.

Sandy, if the Bible is True then there was no need for restoration.

Sandy, if the Bible is not True then there was a need for restoration.

lds can not have it both ways.

IE: We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

Evidently Sanundra; you have no Temple Recoomend; or you'd point out OTHER things you 'believe'.

temple recommend questions

1 Do you have faith in and a testimony of God the Eternal Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost?

2 Do you have a testimony of the Atonement of Christ and of His role as Savior and Redeemer?

3 Do you have a testimony of the restoration of the gospel in these the latter days?

4 Do you sustain the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the Prophet, Seer, and Revelator and as the only person on the earth who possesses and is authorized to exercise all priesthood keys? Do you sustain members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles as prophets, seers, and revelators? Do you sustain the other General Authorities and local authorities of the Church?

5 Do you live the law of chastity?

6 Is there anything in your conduct relating to members of your family that is not in harmony with the teachings of the Church?

7 Do you support, affiliate with, or agree with any group or individual whose teachings or practices are contrary to or oppose those accepted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

8 Do you strive to keep the covenants you have made, to attend your sacrament and other meetings, and to keep your life in harmony with the laws and commandments of the gospel?

9 Are you honest in your dealings with your fellowmen?

10 Are you a full-tithe payer?

11 Do your keep the Word of Wisdom?

12 Do you have financial or other oblgations to a former spouse or children? If yes, are you current in meeting those obligations?

13 If you have previously received your temple endowment:

Do you keep the covenants that you made in the temple?
Do you wear the garment both night and day as instructed in the endowment and in accordance with the covenant you made in the temple?

14 Have there been any sins or misdeeds in your life that should have been resolved with priesthood authorities but have not been?

15 Do you consider yourself worthy to enter the Lord's house and participate in temple ordinances?

We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth. and so forth.

HMMmm...

THIs sure sounds VERY ambigious.

Just what kinds of things slide in under THESE two clauses??

“You apparently missed the point when you were with YWAM, that ALL believers hold the priesthood and that authority comes only from Christ.”

One time a church member (Faith, Hope & Love in Issaquah WA) told me: “God told me to buy a Subaru.” Is that the kind of “priesthood” holder you are talking about? If you held the “priesthood” as you claim, it would never enter your mind to speak in such harsh, evil terms about me and my faith.

Thank you for posting your church’s creed.

I notice it doesn’t say Jesus Christ was eternally God,
neither made nor created.

Do you believe Jesus Christ was a created spirit being
who later became a god?

I became disillusioned and felt something was amiss,

Hello again....refreshed my memory on YWAM.

Wycliffe Bible Institute and Campus Crusade for Christ were supporters of this organization of churches. Wycliffe etc. are pretty solid, but of course YWAM began changing after awhile and they were loosing allot of their support.... I imagine the uneasiness you felt that "something was amiss" was warranted..... If you were there at that time you were likely picking up on some of the stuff people began having deep concerns about. So that was a good thing.

I am hopeful that before things got whacked a bit at YWAM you were able to present the Gospel to many over your 5 yrs. with them. What country or countries did you work in? or was it stateside?... There are/were a pretty hefty international conglomerate, spread all over the world.

Well it's dinner time here and you know how that goes its that time of day. If I don't hear from you on FR. later..have a good night.

Yep...and then he tossed our sins into the deepest sea and put a huge sign up that reads...”NO FISHING”...sometimes we find ourselves fishing in the past....the sign idea works good for me.

Very well said...something to reflect on often.

No, I will hit the abuse button whenever puny mortal holier-than-thou know-it-alls have the nerve to act for God Almighty and condemn another person, or group of persons, to hell. Being so pompous as to actually think you know who is going to hell (me) and who is not going to hell (you) is creepy, disgusting, ugly, mean spirited, and non-Christian (to say the least).

Jesus Himself gave the criteria for being saved. We repeating what He told us isn't "creepy, disgusting, ugly, mean spirited, and non-Christian " unless that's what you think of Jesus.

Jesus suffered and died for Mormons, too.

Nobody said He didn't. But you have to believe in the Jesus of the NT, not any old made up one by some guy who was seeing things, who can't back up a word of what he said.

But now God Never said they couldn't touch it....she ‘added’ on to God's ‘spoken word.’

Or Adam did.

She wasn't around yet when GOD spoke to Adam.

Genesis 2:15-22
15 And the LORD God took the man and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat;
17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it. For in the day that thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die."
18 And the LORD God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper meet for him."
19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air, and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them; and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a helper meet for him. 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof.
22 And the rib which the LORD God had taken from man, made He a woman and brought her unto the man.

Heck!!

They ain't listed ANY where!

Not in ANY MORMON scripture - NOWHERE!

How can they be SO.... 'sacred' if they don't even show up in MORMON writings?

Oh noez..Jesus didnt read the 167 rules for missionaries before He sent them out...

You foul ANTI!!

You KNOW we have no constricting 'rules' on our young people!

They are FREE in MORMONism to act anyway that GOD tells them to!
