You wrote:

“I will disagree with you on that. I consider both protestants and Catholics to be Christians, LDS are not, by their own admission they believe in a different Christ than Catholics and protestants.”

We actually agree then.

“And I gave up the ‘one true church’ (as a denomination) when I left Mormonism.”

And yet only one Church can be the Church.

“The Church of Christ is the body of all believers.”

And yet when that was taught there was only one Church and no Protestants.

Because none of them were sent by Christ. They are all just latter day sects. Some of them may be set apart by 300 years, but they’re all 1500 to 1800 years too late to be the Church Christ sent. They are all man-made sects. You could set one up today. If you have talent and ability and gain followers, you could start one that could last hundreds of years. It would be wrong. It would be a sect. It would embrace and teach heresy - but none of that ever stopped a Protestant sect from starting before.

I have never heard that from a Catholic but I have heard it from the Church of Christ. They believe they are the ONLY ones going to Heaven.

If Beck was Catholic then he was probably baptized which means he is still Catholic.

He just got caught up in a cult. The baptism in the Mormon church is not considered authentic by the Catholic church because it is not Trinitarian.

You must be reffering to the Campbellites. We had some interesting Cmpbellite wars here on FR a few years ago.

microthongs? = crotch floss?

Absolutely. The Brazilians appear to have it down to a fine (!!!) art. Considering the LDS women that I have known, though, I'm sure that it'd look like two rubber bands on an egg...

Oh?

Catholics have VISIONS and bunchs of folks believe them.

How does tell if THOSE were 'sent by Christ'?

THE LORD HONORS THOSE WHO HONOR HIM it is that simple!

Oh???

In conclusion let us summarize this grand key, these “Fourteen Fundamentals in Following the Prophet”, for our salvation depends on them.

1. The prophet is the only man who speaks for the Lord in everything.
2. The living prophet is more vital to us than the standard works.
3. The living prophet is more important to us than a dead prophet.
4. The prophet will never lead the church astray.
5. The prophet is not required to have any particular earthly training or credentials to speak on any subject or act on any matter at any time.
6. The prophet does not have to say “Thus Saith the Lord,” to give us scripture.
7. The prophet tells us what we need to know, not always what we want to know.
8. The prophet is not limited by men’s reasoning.
9. The prophet can receive revelation on any matter, temporal or spiritual.
10. The prophet may advise on civic matters.
11. The two groups who have the greatest difficulty in following the prophet are the proud who are learned and the proud who are rich.
12. The prophet will not necessarily be popular with the world or the worldly.
13. The prophet and his counselors make up the First Presidency—the highest quorum in the Church.
14. The prophet and the presidency—the living prophet and the First Presidencyfollow them and be blessed—reject them and suffer.

I testify that these fourteen fundamentals in following the living prophet are true. If we want to know how well we stand with the Lord then let us ask ourselves how well we stand with His mortal captain—how close do our lives harmonize with the Lord’s anointed—the living Prophet—President of the Church, and with the Quorum of the First Presidency.

Ezra Taft Benson

(Address given Tuesday, February 26, 1980 at Brigham Young University)

Now then; should we believe RESTORNU; or a PROPHET of GOD?

Not familiar with Campbelites. As a young person I started going to a nearby Church of Christ because I could walk there and they had activities during the week. One of the elders told me that it was sad that my parents didn't come to the C of C because they were going to hell if they didn't. I never went back.

***Not familiar with Campbelites.***

Alexander Campbell, Barton Stone, Sidney Rigdon (Mormon). all were involved in the Restorationist movement and were considered the founders of the Churches of Christ(Disiples of Christ, first Christian Churchs) anti-instrumental music groups.
Ridgdon wrote doctrine for both the Mormon church and the Campbellite church of Christ.
They cosider themselves the ONLY ones saved.
