Featured Term (selected at random):
Physical or psychological force used to compel one to act against one's choice, or against an inclination to choose in a certain way. Violence may be absolute or relative. Absolute violence demands resistance by all possible means. It destroys free will, and all imputability of the act is then attributed to the violator, if one acts with full freedom of the will. If the victim does not oppose the act with every possible external resistance, or with external resistance internally adheres to the act brought to bear on him or her, violence is called relative. Freedom of the will is not removed but diminished in proportion to the adherence or repugnance present in the mind of the subject.
It fits with society in general too.
Then I think of the little babies about to be aborted who fight for their lives too.

Catholic Word of the Day Ping!
Please send me a FReepmail if you would like to be on the Catholic Word of the Day Ping List.
Add a martyr who died through violence!
If there has to be violence, to protect yourself, you may want to purchase a very reasonably priced pistol or carbine or both from http://www.hi-pointfirearms.com/index.html
I appreciate your concern for all, but your comment doesn’t seem to fit.
I interpreted the topic of Violence to mean that we should be prepared for it. Preaching Christ Crucified will cause violence from satan and those who are deluded by him. We must be as Joan of Arc and Don John of Austria and others; prepared to fight for our Faith.
Matthew 10:34 (New International Version)
34”Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
Luke 22:36-38 (New International Version)
36He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. 37It is written: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors’; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.”
38The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.”
“That is enough,” he replied.
