Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem~The Prophet Joel
The Prophet Joel~ Sistine Chapel
Michaelangelo Buonorroti
Joel 1
1. The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of Pethuel.
2. Hear this, ye old men,
and give ear,
all ye inhabitants of the land.
Hath this been in your days,
or even in the days of your fathers?
3. Tell ye your children of it,
and let your children tell their children,
and their children another generation.
4. That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten;
and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten;
and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.
5. Awake, ye drunkards, and weep;
and howl, all ye drinkers of wine,
because of the new wine;
for it is cut off from your mouth.
6. For a nation is come up upon my land,
strong, and without number,
whose teeth are the teeth of a lion,
and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.
7. He hath laid my vine waste,
and barked my fig tree:
he hath made it clean bare,
and cast it away;
the branches thereof are made white.
8. Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.
9. The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD;
the priests, the LORD's ministers, mourn.
10. The field is wasted, the land mourneth;
for the corn is wasted:
the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.
11. Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen;
howl, O ye vinedressers,
for the wheat and for the barley;
because the harvest of the field is perished.
12. The vine is dried up,
and the fig tree languisheth;
the pomegranate tree,
the palm tree also,
and the apple tree,
even all the trees of the field,
are withered:
because joy is withered away from the sons of men.
13. Gird yourselves, and lament,
ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar:
come, lie all night in sackcloth,
ye ministers of my God:
for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.
14. Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly,
gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God,
and cry unto the LORD,
15. Alas for the day!
for the day of the LORD is at hand,
and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.
16. Is not the meat cut off before our eyes,
yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
17. The seed is rotten under their clods,
the garners are laid desolate,
the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.
18. How do the beasts groan!
the herds of cattle are perplexed,
because they have no pasture;
yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.
19. O LORD, to thee will I cry:
for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness,
and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
20. The beasts of the field cry also unto thee:
for the rivers of waters are dried up,
and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.

Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem~The Prophet Joel
An Old Picture of The Holy Land,
From a Lantern Slide
Almighty and Eternal God,
How Excellent is Your Most Holy Name!
How Glorious and How Wonderful You Are,
And How Righteous and Just!
For You Alone Are Worthy to be Praised And Worshiped.
You Alone Are the Creator of All That Is.
You Alone Are The One True God.
From Everlasting To Everlasting,
You Are the Alpha and Omega,
The Beginning And the End,
The All In All.
LORD, We Thank Your For Your Holy Word,
even when it is distressing and frightening.
As we embark upon this study of Your Prophet Joel,
We reflect that which has already happened,
And that which is yet to come.
We Thank You for Insight and Wisdom that You give us through Your Words.
3. Tell ye your children of it,
and let your children tell their children,
and their children another generation.
4. That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten;
and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten;
and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.
5. Awake, ye drunkards, and weep;
and howl, all ye drinkers of wine,
because of the new wine;
for it is cut off from your mouth.
6. For a nation is come up upon my land,
strong, and without number,
whose teeth are the teeth of a lion,
and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.
7. He hath laid my vine waste,
and barked my fig tree:
he hath made it clean bare,
and cast it away;
the branches thereof are made white.
Dear Father, Once again we hear the tragic story of The Destruction of the Temple and the Babylonian Captivity,
Yet we know this is the Judgment Upon ALL Nations Who Forget YOU.
For If Your Chosen People were not spared,
How can we gentile nations expect to escape Your Wrath?
Dear Abba, We Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem,
And for those within her gates.
Almighty God, We pray so Fondly for Your Beloved!
Even For Those Who are Puzzled by Our Prayers for Them,
Or look at Our Past Sins,
Or Think We have an "Agenda".
We Pray that as You Call Them Home,
from the East and From The West,
From The North and from the South,
From Out of the Lands of persecution and Bitterness,
Of Paganism and Slavery and Bondage,
Of places that were never really home to them,
We ask for forgiveness for ourselves,
For Our Disobedience and Prejudice
And For Our Pride and Arrogance
Forgive us for being complacent,
And allowing people to get into power,
Who hate Your people, Your Law, and YOU.
Dear Father, and we Pray for Our Nation.
We ask You to reverse the trends of evil and selfishness
that have taken hold in our own Land.
We beg that You will restore Faith in You,
The One True God,
and that Our own Nation will Once Again be Known
as one who keeps Her Promises to Her Friends and Allies,
and NOT as A Truce-Breaker.
Abba Father, How we long for that Day,
When You will remove From Your Holy Place
ANYTHING that does not Honor You,
and You ALONE.
LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
For Israel, and For The Jewish People.
We Thank You Profoundly For That Tiny Nation
that sits at the Very Crossroads of History, At the Nexus of Three Continents,
A Holy Witness to The Ultimate Truth of Your WORD!
For it is Not By Might,
Not By Power,
But By Your Spirit that the enemy will be overcome.
We Plead For Israeli Control Over All the Holy Sites in Israel,
So that People of All Faiths may visit them.
We Pray For Bibi Netayahu, and the Leaders of Israel
May They Receive Wisdom from You to do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Thread
Hallelujah and Amen

Late? You gotta be kiddin’! I don’t see how you’re able to post the study for today, PLUS add a very meaningful commentary and prayer (not counting the artwork and photography), thank you for your dedication and hard work.
Prayers for Jerusalem, for our Israeli friends to persevere through these perilous times, not losing their zest and joy of life but knowing Who is in control of all things and to lean on Him for strength and answers.
Amen
