Yesterday after Mass they had a brunch for the priests in the hall.It was very nice. Thank you Jesus for your priests!
We are having four evenings with a Scriptural Rosary and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament during the second and third weeks of June to end the Year of the Priest.
My priest will be in Rome as a representative from our Archdiocese! Wowsies! Can’t wait to see his pictures and hear his stories!
My priest will be in Rome as a representative from our Archdiocese! Wowsies! Cant wait to see his pictures and hear his stories!I can't wait to see the pics too!
We won’t see his, but I’m sure we will see lots of pictures of all the priests there!
What an experience!
Archbishop Chaput lost all credibility when he defended CCHD last fall. When even the “conservative” bishops support the foul deeds of their left-wing brothers, I think it’s fair to say that the American Church leadership is in de facto schism.
I just checked your postings — you seem to really have something against CCHD.
But this thread is about priests, praying and Pentecost. Perhaps you could stick to the subject.
You posted to History, your mistake.
This thread is posted in the Religion Forum.
History = History of religion, religion and secular history, tradition, sacred texts.
History is without debate and can’t be answered?
Just because you are posting in the Religion Forum doesn’t mean anything.
Also:
apologetics = Defense of doctrine.
If you don’t want a response from the general freepers that follow the rules you have for your Catholic Caucus, don’t use these.
Both of these infer you want a response outside of what you just posted.
Also, when posting a thread, put your rules in your original post. This will keep conflict down on the forum.

Leave the thread.
The original post talks about the birthday of the Catholic Church — that is history. Straight from the Bible referenced at Pentecost.
As to the apologetics, explaining part of that is what apologetics is.
Thanks for your input and welcome to the Religion forum.
The point is that when bishops betray the Church, they lose credibility even when they preach the Truth. Yes, I’m a Catholic and yes, I do have something against CCHD. It is thoroughly corrupt, and the evidence is overwhelming. http://www.reformcchdnow.com/
Yet, 95% of the Bishops continue to support it. Until Catholic pew-sitters recognize that the American Church has been high-jacked by socialists(and worse), the corruption will just grow and grow.
Does it follow then that we should not pray for priests?
Furthermore, does it follow that just because he has lost credibility in your eyes that he should no longer attempt to fulfill the duties of his office to strengthen the brethren?
Last time I checked, he is still an Apostle of the Church, imperfect as he is, yet conformed to Our Lord Jesus Christ by virtue of his ordination and consecration.
All the more are we called to pray, no? If the faithful aren't praying, then, yes, corruption grows. With prayer, room for the Holy Spirit to act grows. Without prayer and acquiescence to despair or cynicism, then the enemy wins.
Archbishop Charles Chaput is the real deal. If you find you are at odds with what he says you need to reassess YOUR positions.
I can’t argue with what you say about prayer, but I refuse to give credibility to bishops who are betraying the Church. Yes, we should pray, but we should also seek the Truth.
I take every chance I can to show the extreme degree of betrayal by our bishops. Every time I do, I get accusations that I’m not a Catholic, or worse. Never once has anyone in this group rebutted the facts of my assertions. See my post on Cardinal George on this page. If you pass this off as “imperfection” you better double your prayer time.
Oh, and by the way. I’m sure you would agree that the Mass is the perfect prayer. Follow my link to Father Pfleger’s sacrilegious Eucharistic Prayer, and then come back and lecture me about prayer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjMWbQ7UXOE
