For some, they truly are blind to these things because they don't know Christ, and, as Scripture tells us, will not be able to see the signs of Christ's return (But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. 1 Corinthians 2:14.)
Others have a "Christian" religion the theology of which either denies prophetic Scripture outright or allegorizies it to the point of utter meaninglessness, so they are forced to either discard the Scripture which tells us all these things are going to happen and deny reality or admit that they have bought into a belief system that is not Biblical and is completely false.
That's what I've seen anyway.
My experience has been that the typical member of most churches are not willing to actually study the scriptures and then CHANGE their lifestyle to match what the scriptures say. This has led to a “lukewarm” church that places their comfort over obedience to God. As a result of picking what scriptures to obey and which ones not to they are left on shifting sand instead of solid rock when their world starts crumbling around them.
I pray that God would send revival to the world soon to prepare us for what is coming...
Joel 2:12-13 “Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
