When I visited Auschwitz in 1995, I saw Kolbe’s cell. The tour guide told a little about him and there was a lit candle in the cell. There must still be somebody alive who knew this Saint personally. An almost contemporary link to heaven.

(If you ever get to Europe, you MUST visit Auschwitz and Neopokalonow — the little village where Saint Macimillian Kolbe started his evangelizing and printing of materials.
We had Mass in the simple wooden frame church that is the same as it was during Saint Macimillian’s days.
