That would be hard to imagine. Although Paul’s writings (some of them) precede the Gospels.
Yes, you and I know that, but the layperson probably would not unless they study more than most people do. I did my study of Paul under Dr. Paul Achtemeier, who I consider to be one of the most learned authorities on Paul’s writings. I think I enjoyed his classes more than any that I had at Union Theological Seminary in Richmond. I also learned more from his classes. He was a hard task-master, but fair.
