At times I’d rather be around my cat than around other people! At least he won’t criticize me and give me a hard time.I find my cat to be very comforting, and he’ll stay with me when I’m not feeling well.

think the patient or next of kin or whatever should decide on who can visit. Its none of the governments business. If I want my best fishing buddy to visit that should be okay too. The problem is how does the hospital know you want him in if you are too sick or injured to tell them. OTOH, do you want your best fishing buddy deciding whether or not to put you under the knife?

I think visitation and being able to make medical decisions should be separated a bit.
