Coffee is good for you. The reason for this increase is most likely the demographic makeup of mormons.

They kept gay marriage out of California apparently so I owe them that much.

Seventh Day Adventists have much higher lifespans too. Of course most are vegetarian, non-smoking, nondrinkers who also avoid caffeine.

They abstain from alcohol, tobacco, tea and coffee because the body is the temple of the spirit I'd be curious if they have any other habits that would be considered healthy, because just these really dont sound like they would lead to that much of an increase in lifespan. As another poster has noted, it might just be demographics/genetics.

I joined the Church ten years ago. Got a bit of a late start but maybe I can rack up a few extra years. I never had such great friends! I think that’s part of it.
