Psalm 7:10

My Defense is in God,
Who Preserveth the Upright in Heart.

TOPICS: Prayer; Religion & Culture; Religion & Politics
KEYWORDS: godblesspresbush; heroes; jesus; pray; prayer
Our Merciful Shepherd-King,

Most Gracious and Kind Father, how we Love You, and Delight in Singing Your Praise! 'He is our God: we have Waited for Him, and He will Save us. This is the Lord, we have Waited for Him, we will Rejoice and be Joyful in Salvation.' (Is.25:9) Our Trust is in You, Lord Jesus, through Your Enabling, Great Grace. 'To Him be Glory and Dominion Forever and Ever, amen!' (Rev.1:6)

Your Excellency, how Thankful we are for the Years You Gave us with our President Bush. Our Heart's Desire is that his Post-Presidential Life will be Greatly Blessed. We Miss him, O Savior-King, and Pray for Another Good President like him in the Coming Years. May Your Lovingkindness, Lord, be with Your Servant All the Days of his Life. May Your Grace Keep him Forever Safe. We Ask, Abba-Father, that he will be Vindicated in the Future History Books. 'My Defense is of God, Which Preserveth the Upright in Heart.' (Ps.7:10)

Our Loving Shepherd, with Thanksgiving we Lift to You our Dear Troops. May their Eyes be Kept on Jesus, and their Faith be in His Lovely Name. We Long, Father, that Every Man will be Sheltered by Your Hand. For our Brave Military Men and Women we Pray Psalm 92:12,13, 'The Righteous shall Flourish like a Palm Tree, and shall Grow like a Cedar in Lebanon. Such as be Planted in the House of the Lord, shall Flourish in the Courts of our God.'

'Lord, Thou hast been our Habitation from Generation to Generation.' (Ps.90:1) We Honor You, and Thank You, as we Pray All Things for Jesus' Praise, amen.

PRAYERS GOING UP!

THE TWENTY-THIRD PSALM

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me;
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."

Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list

April 11, 2010
A Memorial
As often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes. —1 Corinthians 11:26

The Taj Mahal in India is a magnificent mausoleum. Built entirely of white marble, it was commissioned by the Emperor Shah Jehan in memory of his wife, who died suddenly. It took 22 years to complete. Millions of tourists visit this memorial annually in order to see this grand structure the emperor ordered to be built in memory of the woman he loved.

Millions of people also throng to Jerusalem to look at another site—a tomb that some say may have been where Jesus was buried. No matter what tomb He lay in, Jesus occupied it for only a few days. It has been empty for 2,000 years.

Jesus doesn’t need us to build a memorial to Him. Instead, He gave us the Lord’s Supper (communion) as a memorial to remember Him. On the night He was betrayed, Jesus took bread and the cup and gave thanks to His Father before offering them to His disciples (Luke 22:14-21). Each time we partake of those elements in church, we are first to examine ourselves and our relationship with God (1 Cor. 11:28). “As often as [we] eat this bread and drink this cup” we are to do so in remembrance of the One we love, till He comes (vv.25-26).

The Lord has given us an enduring memorial to remind us of what He has done for us.

I’ll take the bread and cup, dear Lord,
That speak of love sublime,
And give myself afresh to Thee.
My life, my all is Thine! —Anon.

The Lord’s Supper—Christ’s memorial that He left for us.

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent is Your name Over All The Earth!
We Come into Your Presence With Praise and Thanksgiving.
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are Are LORD,
You Alone Are The Most High,
You Alone Are The One true God

Praise You, Lord!
How good it is to sing praises to You;
for You Are Gracious, and a song of praise is fitting.

You heal the broken-hearted,
and bind up their wounds.

You determine the number of the stars;
You give to all of them their names.

Great are You, Lord, and abundant in power;
Your understanding is beyond measure.

LORD, We lift up Our Beloved American Heroes to You.
We Ask You To Keep Each and Every one In Your Tender loving Care.
Keep Your Hand Upon Them and Their Families During This Crucial Time in Our Nation's and World History.

Precious Jesus, Your Know Each One By Name.
You Know The Deep Desires of Their Hearts and The Fibers of their Souls.
Be Their Rock and Their Redeemer,
Their Fortress and Their High Tower,
Their Strength and their Song.

Beloved Holy Spirit, Our Comforter and Advocate,
Please be a Whispering Breeze of Encouragement to All of Our American Heroes,
A Soft Breath in Their Ears of Salvation,
A Small, Still Voice,
But Lifting Up Upon Wings Of Eagles,
Power and Might,
Wisdom and Righteousnes,
Wisdom and Knowledge,
Counsel and Justice and Power
In The Name Of Our LORD Jesus Christ
Amen

KM, I too, MISS having a real President.
