A West Texas teen filed a lawsuit Thursday against the Archdiocese of San Antonio and Archbishop Jose Gomez alleging repeated sexual assaults by a parish priest, who he says the church's leadership should have known was abusive.
The allegations came just days after Gomez was named to a high-profile post leading the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, where he is scheduled to be formally introduced to parishioners in May.
The lawsuit accuses the Rev. John M. Fiala of repeatedly sexually assaulting the teen, including twice forcing him to have sex at gunpoint when Fiala was the pastor at Sacred Heart of Mary Parish in the remote community of Rocksprings. The lawsuit alleges the incidents occurred in 2007 and 2008, during Gomez's tenure overseeing a swath of south and west Texas.

You're absolutely right. And what we have found with Ratzinger's "global authority" encyclical and with Rome's homo-centric priesthood is that the Roman Catholic church is part of that socialistic undermining of society, states and family.
Rome is not the solution; Rome is part of the problem.
The Church was similarly attacked by the Nazi's in the 1930's
Well, that's somewhat off topic, but the truth is that the Vatican cozied up to the Nazis in the '30:s and everyone but a few RC apologists knows that.
Let us not forget the menopausal dingbats
Who could forget you? You're very memorable.
new gist for your hate mill.
"The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate." -- Proverbs 8:13
No, they would have the well deserved reputation as "Liars".

There is only one Christ who sits in heaven, having accomplished the work God gave Him of redeeming His flock.
For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect." -- Mark 13:21-22"And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, Here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
Inserting ranbom blobs of scripture makes the posts more authentic, dontchaknow.
Psychosis is a symptom or feature of mental illness often characterized by a distorted or non-existent sense of objective reality. Psychosis is typically accompanied by paranoid delusional beliefs that are not backed up by reality and may remain despite obvious evidence to the contrary, and the fact that nobody else believes them to be true.
Paranoid Delusions are beliefs of a suspiscious nature, where the person believes something is not right with them, another person (i.e.; the Pope) , or the world in general (i.e.; The Catholic Church), which poses serious problems for them.
You’re obviously writing from your own experience. I hope you’ve sought the help you offer others.
Already been explained ad-nauseum. It's my opinion that you know better.
Yes, I have known psychotic delusionals. You and your loved ones have my deepest sympathy and prayers. Recognizing this makes me take your postings in a different light and evokes only compassion.
May God heal you or at least make you happy.
It doesn't take a PH.D in psychology to understand the latitude such men must give themselves, and thus their arrogance as they believe they are entitled to whatever sinful past-times they desire at the expense of children's lives and faith.
Repent, Rome.
Creepy.
That explains so much.
Here's one thing that jumped out at me: a teen says a priest forced him to have sex at gunpoint, twice, a relatively short time ago (within the statute of limitations), and he never told anyone? Apparently went back to the priest repeatedly? Never called the cops? never brought criminal charges? And still is not charging the priest?
But now that the Archbishop is in the news, he's going to sue the Archbishop?
Can someone explain that part?
On the issue of the priest being "alter Cristus" --- that applies in important ways to all of us, since by Baptism we can say with St. Paul " I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me." (Galatians 2:20) And again, "for we are members of His body." (Ephesians 5:30)
When a priest is minister of a Sacrament, he does it not with his own power, but by the power of Christ --- just as St. Peter healed people in the book of Acts, not by "Peter's power," but by Christ's power.
Any Catholic -- any Christian--- knows that.

Others get on a tear about the Church not doing enough and when confronted with hard numbers, become highly defensive and post a link to some recent case to show that it is still occurring when nobody is denying that it isn't. Still others will say it's not representative of the universal Church while the truly obstinate will say "oh so there are fewer cases than before.....big deal!!"
IOW, they'll say anything, rather than admit that things are improving.
I've outed a number of trolls masquerading as "truly concerned bystanders" with this graph.
Dominus et Pax Vobiscum
So why doesn't the victim bring charges against the priest? Or against the priest's religious order? Or against the Texas Highway Patrol? Or the gun manufacturer? Or --- hey, George Bush lives in Texas...
And the victim says he kept going back every two weeks, for two years...
We'll have to wait until more information comes out, of course, but per the information in this article, it certainly doesn't pass the smell test.
YOU brought the subject up, so here is my reply; I recall the FACT that late one night you had 10 posts pulled. Furthermore, you have had other posts pulled. I remember, even if you do not. I also recall that the RM has cautioned you a number of times against making things personal, whether the offending post was pulled or not.
And here, you are making the thread about YOU. It is against the rules to make a RF thread about any individual FReeper.
.....”he never told anyone”....
Well if you are aware of anyone who has been assulted or raped under threat it is quite common NOT to tell... Let alone a Priest hiding behind the cloak of a religious leader who holds power in the church. Additionally kids are taught homosexual behavior is ok in our schools, so can you imagine the confusion a kid would be in. Come on it’s really not hard to understand at all.
