In the news of late, Jesse James - the husband of Sandra Bullock and CEO of West Coast Choppers - has been added to the ever growing list of public figures in Red Light District America who have been found to be abominably unfaithful to their spouses and are sexual addicts. These super stars live such a life of fame which opens doors for indulgence and excess which few survive. In the end, these excesses consume them and bring devastating consequences upon themselves and their loved ones. Once this Pandora box life style is opened few ever can close it. History is full of countless actors, musicians, politians and individuals that can testify to this reality. It is only the ones who turn to the reality of Almighty God in contrition and with a contrite and humble heart that are truly able to be delivered from their sexual addictions and practice of vice (Psalm. 51:17, Matt. 11:28-30, Col. 3:17-21). This is not meant to be a degrading statement or a condescending appraisal. It is one rooted in reality, truth and love. Many who have been given over to this life style have found forgiveness, pardon and healing from Almighty God and full acceptance in Jesus Christ (Psalm 103:12, Is. 43:25, John 6:37). Many can testify to reality with great joy! (Rom. 6:6, 1 Cor. 6:9-11, Col 3:17-21, Titus 3:3-5).
Tiger Woods also - of late - has been another celebrity in the center of great controversy in light of his sexual addictions and appetites. Tiger has many exceedingly great accomplishments in his young life.

Sad to say the red light district extends to many “conservatives”. There are conservative web sites where members frequently post comments about who they would “hit”. And where it is mandatory to post pictures when certain women are mentioned.
As a Buddhist, it is curious to know where Woods finds his forgiveness. Is it himself? Is it fellow humans? Is it Siddhartha Gautama? Can Woods find great Joy?
The Horror!
Its only found by his Creator... he owes us nothing and his transgressions are against His Creator and his family.
My friend, consider the reality and goodness of Almighty God your Creator. God is not a philosophy but reality. He is not a relativistic concept made up by man but Is.
If you would humor me take this brief test and let me know what you think. it is Easter..
God Bless!

Thanks. Actually, I took if a few days ago. You may remember my witness that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour.
Yeah, its almost as bad as the holier than thou stone throwers around here.
“The Horror! “
Yeah, liberal America that gave us Obama is a hellish horror. Do look around you. Can’t have it both ways.

When comes back as a Jackrabbit.
I think you have pricked a few consciences around here. Keep up the good work.
Yes, the horror! LOL!
I think he was referring to Tiger being Buddhist
That’s unfair and wrong. Finding someone pretty is a far cry from being a “Red Light American.”
I don’t know much about Buddhism, but I would guess it is not a question of forgiveness, but a need for him to detach himself from the addiction to the pleasures of the flesh in order to move to the next stage of enlightenment.
What you have stated is not inconsistent with my undertstanding of Buddhism. Basically, the need to apologize in this case is a self serving need.
Two questions:
1. Has there ever been a “sex addict” who turned himself
into rehab BEFORE he got caught?
2. These serial cheaters weren’t having sex alone. Are
the ladies addicts too, and why do they always get
a pass for participating in the exact same activity
as the men?
OK. That was three questions.
Just to summarize: as a buddhist, he would (should) be seeking enlightenment and removal of suffering. (Depending on which buddhist strain, he would be more or less centered on other's enlightenment first.) Enlightenment is the goal, "curing" the disease of suffering. Forgiveness, as Christians know it, does not play a specific role, except perhaps as it could relate to holding on to the past and not living in the present moment.
TIger would (should) be following the Eightfold Path in this which includes Right Action, Right Thought, etc. Purification would be include, more or less to the extent of his dedication and practice. He would not get intoxicated no matter what his level. And being led by his base instincts, his addiction he says, would be quite unskillful buddhism, as would the harm he has caused others.
In short, Tiger would have to be seen as a lousy buddhist, or at least one who has not been very successful in his practice of his religion.
