I was taught that the 3 Days mean that it was on Friday {1st Day} Saturday{2nd day} and Sunday{3rd Day}. It means it fell on 3 separate days of the calender not necessarly exactly 72 hours of 3 days.

You were taught wrong!

It was a week with two ‘sabbaths,’ Passover, and the regular sabbath two days later.

Christ was crucified on what would be wednesday, and arose on what we would call saturday evening, which by the Jews reckoning was the “first of the sabbaths,” translated incorrectly as the first day of the week in English Bibles, but being really the beginning of the seven sabbaths of Pentecost.

Nothing about the crucifixion and ressurection happened on a sunday.

I also was taught that as a boy but never could make sence of it... have to think like a Jew on these matters since it all took place in the Jewish culture. Jesus stated 3 days and nights

For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Matt 12:40
