Yes, I agree, he put it there and God has seen to it that it has been preserved. We Christians naturally react with awe to the image, not because it is revelation, we already believe, but because it powerfully conveys holiness. No statue or painting of Jesus can match it. Even if it was fake, I would still say WOW!
It’s also important to remember that it survived a fairly significant fire which certainly gives credence to the idea that the Shroud is “protected”.
Just noticed I thought I put a link.
Here it is if you like to see the page:
Wow! This is incredible!

So true!
Maybe Jesus put his image on the cloth because he knew one day the Antichrist would come to deceive the world and now we have an image of Christ, and his truth not to be deceived by Satan or the False Deceptions that is plaguing our world currently.
I have read some Internet Chatter which sounds like Conspiracy Theory, however I wonder if this could come to fruition by the deceivers...
Could this happen from the article? I don’t know but how many people are waiting for some Crazy event to happen in 2012?
NWO Project Blue Beam: False Holographic Second Coming...

As a portrait artist, I have followed The Shroud since the early '60's.
The iconic paintings of Jesus, done by the hundreds for churches, long before cameras, all had one source - and all resemble the Shroud.
Some even have 2 wisps of hair on the forehead - which are on the shroud - but they are not hair, they are blood.
We have the 'familiar' face of Jesus because of the Shroud.
Some, in the past few years, try to dismiss this likeness, saying it isn't "Jewish" enough - not short and swarthy, etc.
Good grief, Neither is 'BiBi" ;o)
go to Jerusalem today - heck, go to your local supermarket or WalMart - look at your own family. We are not cookie cutter people. Nor are/were the Jews/Israelites.
there are today - and always was - plenty of blue eyed, lighter haired, lighter complexion Jews/Israelites.
As for the likeness of Jesus - Who can know? But the Shroud face has a provenance, through art, that stretches back hundreds and hundreds of years.
The image you've posted isn't a true image of the Shroud itself . . . it's the NEGATIVE of the Shroud. The fact that the negative provides so much more detail has some amazing implications.
It was a joke. The paintings were painted by Italian artists. Personally, I always picture Jesus as looking like a young Billy Crystal. But seriously though, I am not interested in what Jesus looks like, but rather in what He said.
You are so behind the times. Do some research - you'll find even the scientist who carbon dated' it - now recognize that the tiny piece of cloth they had to date was from patches woven in after the monastery fire in the 1200...
Do some research - with an open mind.
Don't believe everything you hear. Check out both sides an an issue.
there are many who will do/say anything to prove the Shroud a hoax. They will ignore 1,000 positive clues and grab for ONE that might be in variance.
We have the internet at our fingertips these days. No excuse for ignorance.
WOW! and that was 5 yrs ago when they discovered it was a negative.....

The disciples on the road to Emmaus didn’t recognize Him until the breaking of the bread. Luke 24:13-32
Yeah that going be on History Channel next week I going see that
Do you recommend the veal? :)
“They did not beat his face”
“Now the men who held Jesus mocked Him and beat Him. And having blindfolded Him, they struck Him on the face and asked Him, saying, Prophesy! Who is the one who struck You? And many other things they blasphemously spoke against Him.” (Luke 22:63-65)
in The Innocents Abroad, Mark Twain noted that as he and his fellow travelers crossed Europe, “we find a piece of the true cross in every old church we go into, and some of the nails that held it together. I would not like to be positive, but I think we have seen as much as a keg of these nails.”
Speechless.
