I didn’t ping you because you assume what cannot be assumed, assign motive where you have no cause to do so, jump to conclusions that are not valid, do not appear to read and think before you reply, put the very worst construction possible on whatever I write, accuse of all manner of nonsense, and, in general, appear to be either a rather unpleasant or quite immature person.

So, you go ahead with calling me out (LOL) “to avoid admission admission of your losing position on sola scriptura and the authority of the Church in deciding the NT canon.” If that’s what you think it was, I leave you to your own delusion. Finally, it’s not that my “non sequitur” was not skillful - it wasn’t meant to be - it’s that it wasn’t a non sequitur.

Again, I didn’t ping you because, from my experience with you, I do not find you to be a very honorable or ethical person to discuss anything with.

Nevertheless, I bid you a happy Easter. May you know the blessings of the crucified, risen, and ascended Christ.

Nice personal attack.

An honorable and ethical person pings someone to their post when talking about them.

Yes. It is not strictly governed by the rules of the RF, but still, honour and ethics do apply.

Well, gee, Mark, I take your accusation of my not observing honor and ethics very seriously from a man who replied to my statement, “My 16 year old daughter knew and understood more of the Bible than you do when she was an 8 year old,” the following:

“A rather precocious daughter. Is she of your bloodline?”

Remember that one, do you? I do. And I’ll remember you.

Proof that you don’t read and think. I specifically said two things: First, referring to “certain persons.” That’s what is called in grammar an indefinite plural. If you took it to me you personally, I leave it to you to figure out why that might be. Second, I made no personal attack. I merely said that the reaction was one of “horror and surprise,” AND I SPECIFICALLY COMMENDED JUDGMENT OF SUCH TO THE READERS INTERESTED, TELLING THEM TO GO BACK AND READ THE EXCHANGE FOR THEMSELVES.

Go back and read it!

An honourable man would not have posted what you did. Did the jean-skirted wife undergo the effects of impotent rage?

Remember that one, do you? I do. And I’ll remember you.

Promise me you won't secretly videotape me in my hotel room and then post it on YouTube. This country was built upon men who rose to Olympian heights of greatness and also suffered from little men who nursed grievances in their shrunken and narrow chests until they could make somebody pay. Size 32, I'd guess.

Whomever you were referring to as the “certain persons who have been posting recently on this thread,” they were not pinged. You pinged no one but yourself.

And the personal attack was in your post to me following that one.

A fine statement from a fine gentleman who exhibits proof of neither. I trust that the crop of raccoons will be good this year and hope that the first schoolteacher in several years doesn't fall afoul of the boys in the white sheets. Will it be worth while to even send a dentist this year? I will try to get this post in before the 'lectricity fails. Good luck.

Well, Mark, here is the whole post you sent to me, including your ever so snide question of whether my daughter was really my daughter. I have added nothing. For those interested, the following is post 414 on this thread:

To: Belteshazzar; Religion Moderator
I would complain to the religion moderator about your choice of epithets, but that might make him think I take you seriously.
Very well. I shall contact the moderator myself in the hopes of understanding which epithets I have had the choice of.

My 16 year old daughter knew and understood more of the Bible than you do when she was an 8 year old.

A rather precocious daughter. Is she of your bloodline?

Since I belong to none of the aforementioned “sties,” I’ll have to decline commenting.

May I ask which sty you belong to?

You are not an apologist.

You know me better than I know myself.

You are just a basher ... and not a very well-versed one at that.

Well, I’ve posted more verse than most here. Does that count?

And just like everybody who has had enough, you keep coming back for more.

Jesus calls upon on all to repent. Even the big headed and the narrow chested. If you do not submit to Him, then you are submitting to the lord of this world. There are no other choices. You say that you know Scripture. Even satan can quote Scripture for his own ends. Knowing it is one thing. Believing it in your heart is quite another. So is living it.

Today, why not give up the heresies and the rebellion against God? Walk or drive to the nearest Catholic Church or shrine and physically kneel down in the presence of God and ask for His forgiveness for your sins and invite Him into your heart. Physically kneel, not just metaphorically kneel. I think that you might be very surprised at the acceptance of God for those lost sheep who come home. I know of what I speak. Prodigal sons are welcomed home on a continuous basis.
