God has commanded us to do these ordinances. John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Jesus' commandments were condensed into loving God all your being and your neighbor as your self. Where in the Bible does Jesus teach modern temple ordinances because what is being performed in secret was not performed in the temple of Jesus' day (or before).

Good point. I was just going to say that Christ never commanded me to do ordinances. In fact, quite the opposite. Christ’s atonement tore the veil between God in the Holy of Holies so that we may approach God in relationship and not through Temple sacrifices. The Temple was no more.

Mormonism negates the atonement and replaces Grace with ‘Temple ordinances, obedience and covenants.’ They negate the atonement by saying things like “Christ makes up the difference.”
