Why Does Glenn Beck Hate Jesus?

When Glenn Beck told listeners of his radio show on March 2 that they should "run as fast as you can" from any church that preached "social or economic justice" because those were code words for Communism and Nazism, he probably thought he was tweaking a few crunchy religious liberals who didn't listen to the show anyway. Instead he managed to outrage Christians in most mainline Protestant denominations, African-American congregations, Hispanic churches, and Catholics...

How much do you know about the Trinity? Christians hold the Nicene creed and a triune God (not gods)

That is the definition of Christianity.. others may not apply

Rev 911, so what it seems to me that you are really saying is that nobody ever needs to explain the scriptures. Do you explain scriptures in any of your sermons or are the sermons just a simple reading of the scriptures without commentary.

I ask, if the scriptures have always been so easy to read and understand, why is there a Nicene Creed? Why are there so many different beliefs in the Christian community. I attended Evangelical Bible studies where there were almost some great knock down drag out fights because of different interpretation of the scriptures. One of the biggies is the work vs grace question. I know plenty of Evangelicals who believe that works are important to their salvation and that’s it’s not just grace alone.

Besides I’m not here to convince you of what I believe. I’m here to show you the weakness of your arguments.

I get accused of believing I’m superior to other Christians, yet all I see in this thread are people who act like they are superior to me. They throw out verses and then they expect me to instantly see the greatness and sound rationale in their faith compared to mine.

I hear the accusation all the time that when Mormons in their testimonies say that they “know” something, they are lying because they don’t really know, but these same accusers tell me constantly that they know that what they believe is true. pot kettle.

RnMom, if, as many of those on your side say, the Bible is easy to read and understand, why was there ever a need for the Nicene Creed?

True, the truth that you people don’t have the truth. Please carry on.

Ten out of ten Christians surveyed say we DO have the real truth.

Oh, the mormon problem is that the "truth" of mormonism that we are posting is the "truth" found in your scriptures (as far as they are translated correctly ROTFL), your JOD, your conference talks, your "History of the Church"....truths of your Joseph Smith, your Bruce McConkie, your Orson Pratt, your Sidney Rigdon.

We aren't the ones demanding that the whole wide world of Christianity allow a teeny-weeny newcomer-sect to bastardize the definition of Christian so that the cultic practices and doctrines of mormonism can justify the millions of dollars spent on a public relations firm who had the "revelation" that co-opting the name, "Christian" would bring in more convert$.

We aren't hiding the Truth of Jesus Christ under the skirts of a charlatan and liar....and we WILL carry on.

i’d cite Scripture in every instance - but are you willing to read it or argue

Is your heart so hard?

I think that you meant that for Urroner.

I’m a Trinitarian and a Christian. :)

Worth a repost:

One perspective acknowledges God as being powerful enough to convey his message through mere men....the mormon position limits God by limiting His influence upon men in their ability to convey the message.....despite the manuscript evidence to the contrary

So if it’s grace alone, what can I do to be saved?

Do you really want to know or are you just setting up a straw man?

You tell me that I need to change my ways, but, according to your beliefs, IIRC, it’s not a matter of me doing anything, it’s a matter of God changing my ways. I can do nothing about it.

So I ask, is it grace alone, where God does everything, or is it a matter of mostly grace with a wee bit of works on my part?

Don’t ask me to do when you believe it’s not a matter of me really doing something.

I ask:
So what? Just because 10 out of 10 say anything doesn’t make it true, it just makes it a popular belief. Have you ever heard of “argumentum ad populum?”

GF continues to bloviate:
“We aren’t hiding the Truth of Jesus Christ under the skirts of a charlatan and liar....and we WILL carry on.”

Please do. Please carry on. Sad thing is that you are professing to one and all that you aren’t hiding the truth of Christ, yet all I have seen in this thread from your side is anger and hatred. Are those the truth of Christ?

I have asked you guys to defend is some logical method your beliefs and all I have seen so far for a logical defense is “We are right and you are wrong,” “Just read the Bible’” or “You Mormons are evil and the Bible is 100% self-consistent.”

So, basically what you guys have been giving me are simple emotional defenses, attempting to make me feel bad for disagreeing with you. Sorry, but that does nothing for me. That’s like when one of children, when they were younger, would say “But if you loved me, you would....”

There is a place and a time for an emotional appeal, but if that is all you have in your arsenal, all I have to say is “Keep on keeping on.”

I think it was meant for you, since I very seldom argue scripture and the kids on my block think I’m a big teddy bear.
