....."Who really cares about other unimportant details?"...

OK, I will take the road nobody wants to travel, but it should matter to a Christian. Now I don't know this person, nor do I vouch for anything he says, but dates and time DO matter if you want to know about God's timing. All these dates were commanded to be observed in the OT as Divine Feast days for God. They are not our days but God's days. To make a long story short, Jesus was born on Tabernacles, Died on Passover, in the tomb for Unleavened Bread, rose on First Fruits, and the Holy Spirit as given on Pentecost. Now why this is important is, God was forecasting His plan to His followers. Knowing God has fulfilled His plan faithfully and accurately in the past should give us great confidence in His plan moving forward on the proper days in the future. The only unfulfilled Feast Days are Rapture, on some future Feast of Trumpets, Judgment Day will occur on a future Yom Kippur, and the return, rule and reign of our Lord will happen on a future Tabernacles. Now, will you go to hell if you celebrate pagan days instead of the days we were commanded by God to observe? I don't know, but faith that Jesus will save you is what saves you. Arguing about other subjects in the Bible are interesting, eye opening, and also shows your trust that God didn't lie to you. A trip to hell is probably not in the cards. But God also shows His frustrations with humans when he says we are destroyed by our lack of knowledge, we should get off the milk and go to the meat, and other verses that God uses to encourage us to mature in our walk with Him. A Christian cannot understand the true message of Jesus without a study of Jewish culture, Feast days, and traditions. Jesus was and is a Jew, after all. The term "Chosen People" used for the Jews doesn't mean they are better than anyone, but that God would reveal Himself through the Jews. There is nothing wrong with a Christian observing the Jewish holidays as long as they understand their meaning. I don't have an opinion on observing pagan holidays and attaching Jesus meanings to them. If you celebrate Easter, but observe it because Jesus rose on First Fruits, I just don't have an opinion. I do worry about a slippery slope connecting pagan anything with Jesus. Christmas is by far the worst. It is pagan through and through. Tree's Green, Santa, trading gifts, almost everything is pagan and has nothing to do with Tabernacles. The Bible even instructs us to NOT give gifts like the pagans do. The Bible gives a list of things that many Christians do, and lists them as "Doctrines of Demons". There is so much we do wrong however, I'm not sure what the penalties are for this. IMHO, the biggest sin may be calling Sunday the Sabbath. Jesus met for church on Saturday, just as all the other Jews did. I can't find the verse where He changed it to Sun. I feel we have been given freedom and aren't so tied to the Law as the Jews were, but there is also no commandment telling us it doesn't matter anymore. The post writer is probably a Jew and is imparting his view of the world to us sinners. Nothing wrong with that. If it sparks someone to read their Bible and not depend on the History Channel( or FR) to get their info, maybe it's worth it.

I can think of no better reply than Jesus' in Matthew 23.... Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!

I “observe” NO “Jewish holidays” or holy days; but thanks for your Christian attitude, in any case! I only believe “The Seventh Day Sabbath of the LORD your God”, “The Lord’s Day” in and under the New Testament. ‘Observing’ the Sabbath, all OT ‘days’ are observed IN TRUTH because IN CHRIST.

A lot of good points there, Chuckles.

Paragraphs are nice, too.
