Call it "shameless self-promotion" if you will, but, hey, somebody's got to do it. We're looking for a shot as a musical guest on Mike Huckabee's Fox Show on Holy Saturday with a song about the Resurrection called "That Rock Is Gonna Roll". Folks can hear it on the music player at http://www.emmettgrayson.com/ and there's also a link there to Huckabee's production staff. It is perfect placement for this particular song to carry the message that He died and yet He Lives. The single most important part of our faith is that He didn't stay dead.
So, yes, I'm asking FReepers to help us annoy Huckabee enough to invite us on to do it. If you'd be kind enough to give it a listen and send an e-mail, we might be able to bring this song to people - in spite of the Music Row executives.
How utterly awesome of you both to do that! FRiends, indeed, and that is one of God’s greatest gifts to us in this life! Sticking by me through this too is not something one forgets. Many blessings.
Right-e-o Emmett. I think Huckabee is the perfect possibility with your music. The last guy he had on his show that sang of his disabled granddaughter got to talk for a really long time. Huck didn’t interrupt or anything like that. And my better half said the guy sang really well too ... so good luck in that regard ... we are always praying for the message of Life to get out there ... who better than you to do that ...
Huckabee belongs in prison as an accessory to two murders.
Well, now that you say that, I’ll just forget that he has a TV show where he just might bring a song that needs to be heard to however large an audience he has and just pass on the whole thing. Just because you have some beef with him. Sure thing.
I’m sure the relatives of the people for who’s deaths he is directly responsible for will be very comforted by that sentiment.
Look - I’m a songwriter. I ain’t a politician. I had enough other extraneous problems here posting a simple thread and I’m not at all interested in this discussion, OK?
Well I felt it should be stated, as it’s actually alot worse, OK?
I’m sure those murdered people liked songs too.
I don’t really care what you “felt”. Start a thread about if if you “feel” that strongly.
I recall the story about the parolee who went on and committed these other murders. Not in great detail, but a bit. For some, it seems that no one should dare try to get a shot for their message or for the possible improvement of their life position without some total approval of the venue, the host, the staff members who work for the show - ad infinitum. My thing isn’t “political”. If what I have to say touches and maybe changes the heart or moves the soul, it may lead to different “thinking”. I’m looking for a chance to sow the seeds. I’m not going to stop just because the guy who owns the land may have made some mistakes in the past. If I were promoting some political campaign song for Huckabee, Romney or somebody, that would be a different matter.
Yes, Emmett, I know where you are coming from, but I’ve taken the time to read about you, and I have listened to your songs, before commenting. There has been and probably always will be “knee-jerk” response on this site, and all others that offer commenting. (It will be interesting to see what Randall Terry allows and disallows on his upcoming pro-life chat site. Tom says I should offer to moderate.:))
