Sex abuse scandals in the Roman Catholic Church are proof that that "the Devil is at work inside the Vatican", according to the Holy See's chief exorcist.
Father Gabriele Amorth, 85, who has been the Vatican's chief exorcist for 25 years and says he has dealt with 70,000 cases of demonic possession, said that the consequences of satanic infiltration included power struggles at the Vatican as well as "cardinals who do not believe in Jesus, and bishops who are linked to the Demon".
He added: "When one speaks of 'the smoke of Satan' [a phrase coined by Pope Paul VI in 1972] in the holy rooms, it is all true including these latest stories of violence and paedophilia."
He claimed that another example of satanic behaviour was the Vatican "cover-up" over the deaths in 1998 of Alois Estermann, the then commander of the Swiss Guard, his wife and Corporal Cedric Tornay, a Swiss Guard, who were all found shot dead. "They covered up everything immediately," he said. "Here one sees the rot".

Sorry Father....but your a little off with your sense of direction....the devil is
HERE
Ummmm..., sorry, Satan is smarter than that... LOL ...
You're just talking about one of Satan's third-rate underlings... :-)
As opposed to what?
and this business that the Pope is infallible
Do you even know what that means? It doesn't mean he doesn't sin, or that he does everything perfectly, or anything like that.
All it means is that he won't definitively teach heresy to the entire church.
Read a few of the comments after the story. Very revealing about the state of religion in UK. It amazes me how many people have been duped into believing that the devil does not exists. May God have mercy on them.
I had a close friend who was a Catholic Exorcist. He told me stories I cannot, nor will not repeat here.
He died in despair and horror. I pray daily that God, in His mercy healed his tortured soul.
Been a while since I was Catholic, but infallability only applies when he speaks ‘ex Cathedra’ (from the Chair).
Seem to remember that being the case.
I’ve often wondered if the 3rd secret of Fatima was the implosion of Catholic leadership or satanic takeover of the Vatican.
Wait....the Obama staff currently and frequently refer to Obama as the “Black Jesus”....

There’s a book called ‘Hostage to the Devil’ by Fr. Malachi Martin which depicts in detail the sacrifice of exocists - of the toll they take.
The book actually ends with the death of an exorcist, and it makes the first horrible incidents worth reading through, because of the relief brought by death and the perspective gained by the various ‘holes’ through which demonic possession may occur.
The Catholic Church deserves so much credit for actually taking Satan seriously, and for calling out the reality of the fact that we were born into a war between Heaven and Hell.
"The floor of hell is paved with the skulls of bishops."
-Athanasius of Alexandria (c. 293 2 May 373)
I’m sure God knows and has it all under control.
kinda scary and where is the oversite?
The Pope is only considered infallible when he speaks ex-post cathedra.
Anti-Catholic bigot! Catholic hater!
Oh...wait...
Never mind.
Yes, my understanding is that the exorcists are sort of trapped between a modern world that denies demons exists and scoffs at such “medieval notions” as possession, and what they experience when treating people. Even the Catholic Church pretty much hides exorcists and exorcism from public view. I understand that what those poor priests experience brings many to the brink of insanity and spiritual isolation. I just pray that God grants them an extra portion of grace for standing up to what the rest of the world shrinks in horror from.
He approves, however, of the 1973 film The Exorcist, which although "exaggerated" offered a "substantially exact" picture of possession.
It goes along with my opinion that The Exorcist is one of the very last movies made where Catholic Priests are depicted as real people, and heroes. As hard as the movie is to watch, and as much baggage as it carries, it's actually a very well made movie and the priests are portrayed very well.... as honest-to-God MEN, not as nursery school psychologists, which is what today's priests are portrayed as in film.... if they're lucky.
I'm tempted to swipe that for a tagline but I really don't want to offend any of our Catholic friends. Considering the date of it, I'm actually trying to figure out a paraphrase that works a bit better for our times.
The Devil knows scripture better than most of us, you know. I'm not sure but I think I met him in Sunday School a couple of years ago. He's well-dressed too.
Gee... I wonder what could have happened there?
Then what the h e double toothpicks is the name of the demon in the WH?
So it would seem.
