My son in law, Sam, went into the ER with severe abdominal pain the night before last; a CT scan showed a bowel obstruction, tumor, on the right side. He had surgery last night, and 5-6 inches of bowel were removed due to cancer. The doctors said there was no way to foresee this, as he is fairly young. He and my daughter have insurance to take care of the medical expenses, but they have three children under 15. After the surgery, the doctor said he was "cautiously optimistic" but the pathology reports are not due until Thursday, and at that time they'll start to work up a treatment plan.
This is a tremendous unforeseen blow to this nice young family, I'm babysitting for the grandkids while my daughter spends time at the hospital. She's strong, and so is he, their faith is in the Lord. He's Baptist, she's Catholic, they've been happily married 16 years.
Will be sure to remember him and the family in prayer.
Will do. The pathology report on the lymph nodes and the cancerous tissue is due tomorrow, and we will know better what we are dealing with when that information comes in.
The amazing thing is, he had sinus surgery in January, and there was no sign of any illness or any problem whatsoever, at that time. This came on very fast, and that's scary.

Tons of prayers for your son in law.
Judianne
Thank you so very much.
I am so grateful for the prayer support, he is really a wonderful father. I tease him about being Baptist, he teases me about being Catholic, we have a good time, and he leads his family in prayer daily.
At this time, they think he will be in the hospital around another week.
Prayers for your son-in-law and his family.

Prayers up. I had camplyobacteriosis (sp) (food poisoning) last year and I can really sympathize with intestinal pain. Sam’s young and in good hands. Prayers for the family also.

Heartfelt prayers for your son-in-law and his family, Judith Anne...
That sounds very painful!
The thing with Sam, he thought he was having the flu, you know, nausea, cramping in the stomach, then the severe pain started, so he was thinking maybe appendicitis. Nobody expects to have cancer, especially a younger man who has always been in fairly good shape. This came as such a shock.
He’s adopted, so there’s no way to know if it runs in the family. God bless him! I mean, think about it—it takes an exceptional guy to get along with the mother-in-law!
Prayer works.
Prayers up for Sam’s full recovoery and for this whole family.
Joining you in prayer for a complete and speedy recovery.
Prayers up for healing and full recovery for your SIL and prayers for strength for you, your daughter and the kids.
