Disclaimer: I am former LDS and "anti" mormonism. I post articles from official mormon sources that often relate to current discussions taking place on the forum to provide a means for open discussion in the Religion forum.

FROM THE RELIGION FORUM MODERATOR:

Open threads are a town square. Antagonism though not encouraged, should be expected

Posters may argue for or against beliefs of any kind. They may tear down other’s beliefs. They may ridicule.

On all threads, but particularly “open” threads, posters must never “make it personal.” Reading minds and attributing motives are forms of “making it personal.” Making a thread “about” another Freeper is “making it personal.”

When in doubt, review your use of the pronoun “you” before hitting “enter.”

Like the Smoky Backroom, the conversation may be offensive to some.

Thin-skinned posters will be booted from “open” threads because in the town square, they are the disrupters.

http://www.freerepublic.com/~religionmoderator/

Thin-skinned (emotional, whiney or mercurial temper) posters are the disruptors on open threads.

Unfortunately, most of Christendom has accepted the notion that the Holy Ghost communicates through something akin to hunches, ESP or feelings. Rather, the Holy Ghost communicates through wisdom and accord. Occasionally, this can be confirmed through feelings (”Are not our hearts burning within us?”), such as joy (”the joy of the Lord is our strength”), contrition, or peace. But even such a peace is rarely contentment or tranquility (”because you are neither hot nor cold, I have vomited you”), but more often firm resolve, and fulfillment.

Such things as contentment, transquility, hunches, “inner voices,” a sense of emotional warmth, etc., are all known well to practitioners of pagan religions. They are sensual, not spiritual. Unfortunately, arguments with LDS that I have had almost always have ended up as appeals to such sensual perceptions.

Don’t forget the fourth member of the Godhead - the Divine Mother. Without the Mother there is no Son.

If I had to pick a single thing in the New Testament which might be a problem for Mormons, it might just be this:
27 Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,

28 Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

29 There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.

30 And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.

31 And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.

32 Last of all the woman died also.

33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.

34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

Almost sounds like the whole idea of marriage ceases to be meaningful in the next life. Any thoughts??

Holy Ghost - a ‘god’ of mormonism yet with out tangible body of flesh and bones - and yet to be human to fully qualify as a god. How does that work out, not even Elohim was able to accomplish that. This same Holy Ghost has no other name as a prematurely deified spirit child - why’s that, couldn’t smith have conjured up a name?

“As a personage of spirit, the Holy Ghost can be in only one place at a time,”

The Holy Spirit is God, as the father is God, and Jesus Christ is God - omnipotent, omnipresent. Omnipresent - ubiquitous - everywhere at the same time.
