Truly, I suspect the questions concerning what God was doing before Creation and whether He pardoned Satan (Genesis v Job v Revelation) and even the never-ending dispute over predestination v free will derive from man's tendency to apply his arrow of time to God.... God, being Creator of "all that there is" which includes time is not delimited by any such thing as time, much less an arrow of time.... Or to put it another way, a thing is true because God says it. Time, whether a line, plane or volumetric, is irrelevant to God because He is not time-bound. We are. Indeed, a thing is true because God says it, not because it measures up to some human standard of truth.
Truly you say, "Man is not the measure of God."
And truly you say, "God has revealed His Name to us both as Alpha and Omega and I AM."
Thank you ever so much, my dearest sister in Christ, for these penetrating insights into the "time problem!" Plenty of clues there, if folks want to follow them....

Indeed, a thing is true because God says it, not because it measures up to some human standard of truth. Unless God (assuming you would recognize him!) said it in front of you, you must believe it, based on nothing more than another man's testimony. So, when you say that God said something how is it that you "know" unless you are willing to believe that a book, which was written by an human, represents God word?
In the past I have gotten answers like "because the Spirit revealed it to me," or something to that effect. Which basically means I have would have to believe you just because you say so.
In other words you believe it's true because it's in the book and the book is true because you believe it is!
