The Catholic faith is Christianity.
So is Many Baptist, Methodist, Church of Christ, Church of GOD, Assembly Of GOD, Presbyterian, ETC or for that matter an at home family church. The Roman Catholic Church nor any Church holds the sole control, ownership, or absolute church authority only Christ does. The Roman Catholic Church is no better no worse than any of those I listed. It has no more or no less power than those I mentioned. ALL OF THEM are Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Get used to it.
The churches over time have split for many reasons and causes just as the early Apostles and Disciples did. Do you think Paul and Barnabas disagreement was by accident or divine action? Or do you think twice as many were reached and preached the Gospel because of their disagreement when Paul and Silas two men of equal faith and knowledge went to different cities apart from each other? Their disagreements along with persecution of the church is what finally got the Gospel spread past Judea into other lands.
In the early days after the cross the Disciples were not fulfilling the Great Commission Christ gave they were living in one place all together. Their divisions and disagreements usually were nothing but Old Testament legalisms and traditions they couldn't or wouldn't let go of. That went on evidently for several decades at least. Peter and Paul even had disputes over matters. There is in where the danger lies.
Man despite all of GOD's attempts throughout the Bible to free him has reverted back to creating conditions upon GOD's word making matters far more difficult on themselves and others. Peter and the Disciples almost went there after themselves. How much more so any church leaders in any church since?
Christ built His Church upon Divine Revelation just as it was revealed to Simon from GOD who Christ really was and upon the Christ has built His Church.
He revealed many things to many and not just Peter. Peter was the leader as such of the twelve yes but even Peter came under others close scrutiny and Peter was wrong on several issues which made him human and subject to errors just as it does all men including preachers. priest, and popes at times.
It is well established others besides the twelve Disciples were preaching, teaching, and healing before Christ went to the cross. Christ addressed such and did not place them under authority of Peter.
Mark ch 9 v 38 38John said to Jesus, Teacher, we saw a man using your name to cast out demons, but we told him to stop because he isnt one of our group. 39Dont stop him! Jesus said. No one who performs miracles in my name will soon be able to speak evil of me. 40Anyone who is not against us is for us. 41If anyone gives you even a cup of water because you belong to the Messiah, I assure you, that person will be rewarded.
There is the answer. The Protestant churches have been around how long now? A long time. The beginning of the Protestant Churches is a fulfillment of prophecy to have the Gospel preached to all nations. It is also a prophecy of an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon believers in the last days. The Protestant churches are indeed as much a part of the Body Of Christ as the Roman Catholic Church or Israel. Many flocks but one true Shepherd which is Christ.
Protestant churches and members have been a big part of prophecies such as Israel reborn in a day before the world. Although I do not think any involved with it realized what they were accomplishing scripture wise.
As believers in Christ we have the power and the authority granted to us each and all to ask directly to GOD ourselves for our needs asking in Jesus name. To Him we can also confess our sins, ask His forgiveness, ask for healing, thank Him for our blessings, or share our deepest despairs. Christ taught us how to pray.
Matt ch 6 V6 But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father secretly. Then your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you. 7When you pray, dont babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered only by repeating their words again and again. 8Dont be like them, because your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! 9Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored. 10May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven. 11Give us our food for today,£ 12and forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us. 13And dont let us yield to temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.£
I didn't say it Christ did. Interesting prayer indeed. It praises GOD, ask for His kingdom to come His will to be done, provide for our needs, Forgive Us Our Sins, ask we not be tempted but delivered from evil and temptations.
Amazing. Go in a quiet place ALONE and pray to GOD directly ourselves. I prefer walking along a a river bank myself for this but that's just what works for me. Christ as well took the Disciples away from all for them to rest and to pray. Christ gave us that authority to pray asking in His name directly to the Father. Whom should we call Father? Only one.
Matt ch 23 8Dont ever let anyone call you rabbi, for you have only one teacher, and all of you are on the same level as brothers and sisters. £ 9And dont address anyone here on earth as Father, for only God in heaven is your spiritual Father. 10And dont let anyone call you Master, for there is only one master, the Messiah.
Now just whom am I to believe? The written Word Of GOD written in simplest terms surviving all mans attempts to subvert it's meaning? Or years of traditions and books upon books of laws and church rules GOD did not write but are mans rules of the church? Christ said we were ALL on the same level as brothers and sisters. In other words our church preachers we in Protestant churches usually call them Brother just as we do each other in church. No one is referred to as Holy for only one is Holy. No one is called Father as we only have one Father our Father in heaven. Living solely by the scriptures and teaching solely scriptures in church with no dogma is how most Protestant churches work. My last church I went to had a simple charter of maybe three paragraphs and a statement of faith that was it.
Dogmas and church rules of man can and are corruptible. That is why it is best if churches simply follow GOD's Word alone allowing The Holy Spirit to lead everyone into all truths with no added conditions, traditions, or man made added laws or requirements. In other words the only text a person should have to learn and believe as unquestionable truth and authority to join a church is The Holy Bible and only The Holy Bible.
God's word The Bible did not survive because of any church preserving it. You could destroy every written text of The Bible and GOD's word will forever remain. Why? Because He puts it in each persons heart to their needed measure via The Holy Spirit. That and that alone is how GOD's Word has lasted intact some 3500 years.
