The Scenario:
Ever have one of those days when youre feeling full of energy and vigor? I mean, youre feeling just obnoxiously happy? Well, this is one of those days.
Driving home from work, you switch on the radio to see whats happening, and you tune in to a local Protestant radio station just in time to hear a preacher speaking against various Catholic doctrines concerning Mary. The show is called Pastor Bobs Bible Hour. Pastor Bob proclaims: Jesus knew Catholics would come along and begin to worship His mother and call her perpetual virgin and absurd things like that. But the Bible says: Is not this the carpenters son? Is not His mother called Mary? And are not His brethren James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all of His sisters with us? (Matt. 13:55-56a). And isnt it sad, my brothers and sisters?
Pastor Bob goes on to say: Jesus dealt with these Mary worshippers in His day. In Luke 11:27-28, the Bible says, A woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts that You sucked! But He said, Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!
On a normal day you would probably just listen, take a few mental notes and drive on. But not this time. Youre feeling a little bit too saucy. You take the first exit you see and head for a phone. This is just one more reason why you need to buy that cell phone youve been talking about getting.
Step One:

The lies about the Roman Catholic/Vatican associated congregations and edifice
are MUCH MORE on y'all's side of the discourse.
However, your obtuse, obsfucating, denial flaunting absurd assertions pretending we are talking about a different organization are very helpful in highlighting other absurdities about the organization you are a part of.
Shock.
I agree with you fairly wholesale about that.
I'm not pretending you're talking about a different organization. I'm stating quite clearly that (a) what you say does not describe the Catholic Church and (b) you do not purport to be describing the Catholic Church.
And I'm glad for it.
Excellent post.
I feel the exact same way. Even if I truly believed that Jesus' mother was given too much importance in another church, I wouldn't dare have the guts to claim Jesus' mother was just another sinfull woman. Not honorable at all. Then to go on with lies and false witness should be scary, for someone who believes in the same God I do.
I don't believe in Buddha that doesn't give me the right to mock him or make stuff up for those who do. I don't know much about buddha, and don't care to know. I find it scary how so many new "Christian Churches" can just pop up promising salvation and are simply cultish, and I don't have a need to tell other Christians that they lack structure and authority. I would never claim ALL non-Catholics are cults.
That's why I don't get what motivates people to slander the Catholic faith, which is something that they are obviously unfamiliar with? Especially while claiming to be fellow Christians. It doesn't make sense at all.
I just described the Catholic Church.
Judy,
Thank you for expressing your opinions.
yes, dear. of course, dear...
I’m curious, does the Jewish day Rishon have anything to do with the sun? Because everything I’ve read indicates that it simply means the “first day” and that phrase, interestingly enough, is used in all four Gospels to denote the day of our Lord’s Resurrection.
I'm just thankful your statement (That particular sect has used that same method for centuries although with more devasting effect in real life...) is not intended to describe the Catholic Church.
That's my real concern.
I’m not your dear.
Your advances toward me are creepy and uninvited.
Kindly stop embarrassing yourself.
Whoops: “invisible universal church of the elect”
Just as odd as the incorrectly-quoted version I used above.
“Well, “invisible church of the elect” is an odd description of the Catholic Church”
Not for someone who reads their Bible or has a passing knowledge of Augustinian teachings. I find that Romanists are usually the most ignorant of these things.
Yes, they are. Just as "the_conscience" uses the familiar diminutive of my first name, as though we were friends, when we are both aware that is hardly the case. Creepy is the word.
Perhaps he was inviting you to use a diminutive version of his screenname as well. Perhaps “the_con” is suitably ironic.
I've never met one.
I'm Catholic.
Any such invitation would be summarily refused.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen you step in simply because one side or the other was losing, I’ve only seen you step in when a person becomes hateful to the point that the thread will collapse into total chaos unless something is done.
Astute.
