Nuts and Bolts - By Tim Staples: Mary Worshippers Need Not Apply
Envoy ^ | Tim Staples

The Scenario:

Ever have one of those days when you’re feeling full of energy and vigor? I mean, you’re feeling just obnoxiously happy? Well, this is one of those days.

Driving home from work, you switch on the radio to see what’s happening, and you tune in to a local Protestant radio station just in time to hear a preacher speaking against various Catholic doctrines concerning Mary. The show is called Pastor Bob’s Bible Hour. Pastor Bob proclaims: “Jesus knew Catholics would come along and begin to worship His mother and call her perpetual virgin and absurd things like that. But the Bible says: ‘Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And are not His brethren James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all of His sisters with us?’ (Matt. 13:55-56a). And isn’t it sad, my brothers and sisters?”

Pastor Bob goes on to say: “Jesus dealt with these Mary worshippers in His day. In Luke 11:27-28, the Bible says, ‘A woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts that You sucked!” But He said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”’”

On a normal day you would probably just listen, take a few mental notes and drive on. But not this time. You’re feeling a little bit too saucy. You take the first exit you see and head for a phone. This is just one more reason why you need to buy that cell phone you’ve been talking about getting.

Step One:

For those in the Invisible Universal Church, those united to Christ through the benefits he allocates according to his good pleasure, how could they be implicated?

You implicate a lot of folks and beliefs and traditions with your false statements.

But like I said, since you're leaving out the Catholic Church, whatever.

Moses, being a sinner, died and couldn't even go into the Promised Land. Mary, according to Catholic theology, was sinless and was assumed bodily into heaven. Apparently, she has assumed a throne, dispenses all graces, has numerous titles, etc. etc. and is the Queen of Heaven. Old Moses is barely mentioned anymore.

So, who is greater, Moses or Mary.

Actually what I described is the Catholic Church.

That’s your strawman?

Pretending that you’re a complete inbecile?

Most would be ashamed.

YHWH was the preincarnate Christ, but the church and Israel are two separate entities.

Israel is the Remnant of Jacob, and contains no post resurrection gentiles.

OK. Let’s assume for a moment that you have a point, that there is a difference between “to be in agreement” and “to not be in contradiction” (which exact language I recall using since that is the usual language of the meaning of the imprimatur).

So instruct us all, first, as to the meaning of the imprimatur, and then, second, as to how “not to be in contradiction” invalidates the point made by Quix regarding the authority and role of Mary in the salvation of man ... his point being that the book in question ascribes to Mary far more than her being the Theotokos, with which I have no argument, because it is both scriptural and recognized as such by the fathers of the earlier, and purer, church.

Demonstrate that your position is different than that of the little boy, caught by his mother with crumbs on his lips, who will not admit to any wrong doing until his mother, having carefully inventoried the now diminished contents of the cookie jar, asks precisely: “Jimmy, did you eat 4 and 1/2 chocolate chip cookies and two peanut butter ones?”

Mary was not a created being, she was born human after the fall.

If God would simply wipe out all sin, the result of the fall and the desire to sin in Mary, why not do that for all man kind and skip the whole cross thing?

According to Darby’s theory of dispensationalism only. The bible says the church was in the wilderness.

By now you must know from experience that he doesn’t do specific answers.

That formula makes the Holy Ghost a rapist. You are veering into the unforgivable sin.

I said she God had changed her will to line up with His by His grace.. and so there was no need to ask, an act of God predestined this event..

I don’t know Darby’s Theories; I’m going by Paul’s explanation in his epistles.

I wonder in the Catholic pantheon, who is greater, Christ or Mary?

His implication that the Holy Spirit had physical intercourse with Mary, who consented, is an absurdity that is hard to believe, even from him!

How about you demonstrate how to go pound sand.

But like I said, since you're leaving out the Catholic Church, whatever.

We're referring to the original statement you made, when you left out the Catholic Church. This one:

Romanism denies that God speaks to us directly through his Word and that it must be reinterpreted through the Roman authority
You exclude the Catholic Church from this, great.

Who have I implicated and why is the statement false?

I recommend you read your posting history.
