The Scenario:
Ever have one of those days when youre feeling full of energy and vigor? I mean, youre feeling just obnoxiously happy? Well, this is one of those days.
Driving home from work, you switch on the radio to see whats happening, and you tune in to a local Protestant radio station just in time to hear a preacher speaking against various Catholic doctrines concerning Mary. The show is called Pastor Bobs Bible Hour. Pastor Bob proclaims: Jesus knew Catholics would come along and begin to worship His mother and call her perpetual virgin and absurd things like that. But the Bible says: Is not this the carpenters son? Is not His mother called Mary? And are not His brethren James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all of His sisters with us? (Matt. 13:55-56a). And isnt it sad, my brothers and sisters?
Pastor Bob goes on to say: Jesus dealt with these Mary worshippers in His day. In Luke 11:27-28, the Bible says, A woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts that You sucked! But He said, Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!
On a normal day you would probably just listen, take a few mental notes and drive on. But not this time. Youre feeling a little bit too saucy. You take the first exit you see and head for a phone. This is just one more reason why you need to buy that cell phone youve been talking about getting.

But I can substantiate my opinion. If you love Christ, you love whom He loves. You love the saints and feel good in their company.
Blue Duncan doesn’t go by the text of it, characteristically for Protestants’ fear and disdain for the Holy Scripture as written.
So, if that were the case, wouldn’t it be clearer if the episode were not included in the Gospel at all?
Amen. By the grace of God alone.
Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat. They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them." -- Psalms 115:3-8"But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
So when Roman Catholics tell us they do not worship Mary, that they merely look to her for help, are we not to view that help as a kind of "trust" which God cautions us against?
BTW, while I was looking up that verse I found these...
Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants. Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction. I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me. I am thine, save me" -- Psalms 119:89-94
""For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
Great stuff, eh? Especially after reading RnMom's posted prayers by Roman Catholics which say believers belong to Mary...
"My Queen! my Mother! I give thee all myself, and, to show my devotion to thee, I consecrate to thee my eyes, my ears, my mouth, my heart, my entire self. Wherefore, O loving Mother, as I am thine own, keep me, defend me, as thy property and possession."
(((shudder)))
You made the claim, where's your proof?
Your anti-Catholic gruel gets thinner and thinner.
As Christ wills.
I did not admit it.
I stated it.
Twice.
"Pour our friends some wine, son."
"OK, mom."
If that's a measure of "the only mediator between God and men," then every Jewish mother in the world is a mediator, the equal of Christ.
This episode, however, once again illustrates I could post the alphabet and you'd complain it was 28 letters minus two.
I did not “admit to” it.
I stated it.
Any word on that evidence you promised on the SS involvement of Pere Ratzinger?
This is your view of the miracle at the wedding of Cana?
The malignant metastatic Machenoma is a horror to behold.
Certainly that is true for living saints on earth.
You're not in the company of saints now in heaven...yet. Therefore you have no idea what it feels like to be "in their company."
Point of fact, you don't even know if they're in heaven.
They will. It's hard to look at things with fresh eyes, but they will eventually.
My father in law lived with us for 2 yrs before he died. He was Eastern Orthodox. Every Sunday I would invite him to go to church with us and he would decline. Then one Sunday he said yes. After that he started going every Sunday. Our Pastor makes it very clear every Sunday that the only path to salvation is through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, no tricks, no special rituals, just Jesus. Eventually he heard it and before he died he said he was at rest and had total faith in Jesus.
Or you could post a vicious lie about Pope Benedict's father and the SS and I could call it a...well...a vicious lie.
No, that is my view of the irrational Roman Catholic idolatry which deifies Mary by giving her the title of “mediatrix” when Scripture tells us there is “one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
You’re the only person talking about Ratzinger’s shady past on this thread.
Try to stick to the topic of this thread, Petronski. The stalker behavior you're exhibiting by following me from thread to thread with references to Ratzinger's past reveals you apparently have nothing better to do.
You also appear to have an unhealthy preoccupation with Ratzinger's shady past as a Hitler Youth and a prisoner of war.
Doing penance for him?
No way.
If RC's want to pursue this heresy I sure can't stop them, but as a Born Again Christian I have to warn as many as possible about this misplaced faith and where it leads.
That kind of claim is false on multiple levels, not the least of which is your absurd denial of "talking about [Pope Benedict's] past on this thread. To wit:

Why would you deny something so traceable?
Why is it Roman Catholics always feel the need to tell everyone they spend their prayer time on their knees?
Does God hear the prayers of kneelers more clearly than those of sitters?
In fact, Christ told us to go into a closet to pray. Have you done that lately?
If discomfort is to be commended as a measure of our devotion, then will standing on our head in a closet get us even more attention from God?
Completely false and also, by the way, factually impossible.
Pope Benedict's father was not in the SS and there is no proof otherwise.
Just the filthy lies of a tiny band of Catholic-hating bigots.
