The Scenario:
Ever have one of those days when youre feeling full of energy and vigor? I mean, youre feeling just obnoxiously happy? Well, this is one of those days.
Driving home from work, you switch on the radio to see whats happening, and you tune in to a local Protestant radio station just in time to hear a preacher speaking against various Catholic doctrines concerning Mary. The show is called Pastor Bobs Bible Hour. Pastor Bob proclaims: Jesus knew Catholics would come along and begin to worship His mother and call her perpetual virgin and absurd things like that. But the Bible says: Is not this the carpenters son? Is not His mother called Mary? And are not His brethren James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all of His sisters with us? (Matt. 13:55-56a). And isnt it sad, my brothers and sisters?
Pastor Bob goes on to say: Jesus dealt with these Mary worshippers in His day. In Luke 11:27-28, the Bible says, A woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts that You sucked! But He said, Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!
On a normal day you would probably just listen, take a few mental notes and drive on. But not this time. Youre feeling a little bit too saucy. You take the first exit you see and head for a phone. This is just one more reason why you need to buy that cell phone youve been talking about getting.
Step One:

Why do we have to have all the royal line traced throughout the bible from Adam on down, with a long genealogy of dozens of humans if Mary is the only one that matters? Does God just like to ramble on?
Jesus is referred derisively as “Son of Mary” by the pharisees. They hit the nail on the head with this one, too. A king of this world they would have hailed; it is the “son of Mary” that consternated them. Part of the Plan.
Why all the genealogy? Why, because they are the fact, for one thing. The Kingship of Jesus is also the fact. Nothing in the Queenship of Mary takes away these centuries of God-seeking that the Jews labored through. The Plan of Salvation is sometimes also called the Economy of Salvation. This is a bit unsettling for us because we understand economy as banking and shopping. But the word really means Rule of the House. The Plan of Salvation is not instantaneous — if it were, God could have pardoned the mankind right with Abel. It is rather, like building a house, basement to roof. We had to go through the Flood, the Captivity, the Passover, the dynasties, the apostasies, the two temples to get to that morning in Nazareth. This is why the two Gospels that tell of the Incarnation start with the genealogy: to tell us that this is a cosmic event they are set out to tell.
1. Miriam is a daughter who has no brothers 2. Joseph is descended from King David. 3. The inheritance exception granted for the daughters of Zelophehad 4. Joseph and Miriam are married ( each descended from King David)
There are four things that are important here:
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
and is descended from King David.
But he is from a line prohibited to inherit.
(These were daughters who had no brothers)
is in effect (Numbers 26,27,36; Joshua 17; 1 Chronicles 7 ).
thus providing Miriam with permanent inheritance
of the Kingship of David for her to pass on to her son Yah'shua.
There’s essentially no evidence in Rev 12 that it has ANYTHING to do with the
physical birth of Jesus.
Y’all are great at taking metaphor as metaphor except when you need it otherwise to support dogma from hell.
Impressive.
INDEED.
That is true, and that is the totality of Mary’s special mission. All of the rest of her commission here is exactly the same as for every other member of the Body of Christ. There is nothing in scripture to indicate otherwise, and the words of Christ show clearly that she was one of the sheep, and nothing more; not even an apostolic gift.
##
INDEED.
The physical birth of Jesus is
NOT
DESCRIBED
AT ALL
IN REV 12.
sheesh.
It’s been fierce recently.
Evidently it’s quite jangled by so much truth about it’s successes being so clearly posted.
Woman can be many things, but “The Woman” can only be Israel, beginning in Genesis 3 and onward.

INDEED!
JESUS HIMSELF SEPARATED HIMSELF . . . FROM
. . . HIS MOTHER
AND HIS BLOOD BROTHERS
AND HIS BLOOD SISTERS.
AND ***EMPHASIZED*** THAT HIS RELATIVES WERE THOSE WHO DID THE WILL OF THE FATHER. It was clear that no other distinction or relationship was a priority to Him . . . particularly compared to that one.
It’s also interesting how y’all disbelieve Christ’s words about John the Baptist being a greater man than anyone born of woman.
Such arrogant hubris.
Incredible.
Well put.
WHO BOWS TO CROSSES??????? WE SAVE THAT FOR JESUS.
THANKS...GOOD POSTS.
AMEN.
NO, IT USUALLY COMES FROM SOME OF YOU CATHOLICS...
SOME HAVE A HARD TIME FINDING WORK...
GOOD ONE.
