Nuts and Bolts - By Tim Staples: Mary Worshippers Need Not Apply
Envoy ^ | Tim Staples

The Scenario:

Ever have one of those days when you’re feeling full of energy and vigor? I mean, you’re feeling just obnoxiously happy? Well, this is one of those days.

Driving home from work, you switch on the radio to see what’s happening, and you tune in to a local Protestant radio station just in time to hear a preacher speaking against various Catholic doctrines concerning Mary. The show is called Pastor Bob’s Bible Hour. Pastor Bob proclaims: “Jesus knew Catholics would come along and begin to worship His mother and call her perpetual virgin and absurd things like that. But the Bible says: ‘Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And are not His brethren James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all of His sisters with us?’ (Matt. 13:55-56a). And isn’t it sad, my brothers and sisters?”

Pastor Bob goes on to say: “Jesus dealt with these Mary worshippers in His day. In Luke 11:27-28, the Bible says, ‘A woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts that You sucked!” But He said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”’”

On a normal day you would probably just listen, take a few mental notes and drive on. But not this time. You’re feeling a little bit too saucy. You take the first exit you see and head for a phone. This is just one more reason why you need to buy that cell phone you’ve been talking about getting.

Step One:

I agree that that is further confirmation that the woman is Israel.

When I look at the posts of rabid Catholics I don’t see bigots; I see fear that their man made system of salvation is crumbling.

If the word of God is a source of bigotry, give me bigotry

Very well put.

thx.

"Why is discussing different theology beliefs on a religion forum set up to discuss theology, “attacking” anybody?"

Because shinning the light of truth on baseless beliefs instills fear?

INDEED.

I don’t hate anyone hereon.

I think I hate satan. And I’m none too fond of Othuga and Shrillery.

But those are far different characters than even the worst of the Roman Catholics/Vatican associates hereon.

I think there’s more than a little truth to that.

Not likely consciously admitted even to themselves, however.

Now that’s a deep observation and has biblical support. I’m going to think on that a bit, thanks

"The canon of the Scriptures was not finalized until the 390’s"

Absurd! The cannon, according to the original apostles, had to have been established by AD 91 when John penned the Apocalypse, or else the admonishions therein regarding the word would have been completely hollow.

I can only imagine either my pastor’s reaction or my professors’, had I come up with something similar. Certainly I’d be sitting in the front row taking notes, lol

Except, of course, in the bureaucratic, political power mongering revisionist Vatican system

The more I experience life, the more I realize how important organizational structure, and God given authority, within the church is needed. God knew what He was doing.

The amount of "independent churches" who are accountable to NOBODY - outnumber Protestants.

That means that any Tom, Dick, or Scary can come along and claim to be "Christian", and say whatever they want "in the name of Jesus".

So the very things some posters accuse Catholics of (distorting the Word), are actually happening in thousands of fly-by-night scattered churches outside of the Catholic church.

It is the Magesterium that works to ensure that true doctrine is presented in the church, and only well-trained priests, and lay people serve. And even with the well-oiled "bureaucratic" structure there are many challenges to deal with.

Still, you can go to any of the millions of Catholic churches around the world, and on any given day, the Mass will be the same Mass in every country, with the exact same biblical passages, only in different languages.

Call me crazy, but I appreciate the fact that my Catholic Church does everything possible to protect the integrity of it's doctrine, despite being having the largest population of Christians.

Christian 2,199,817,400

Roman Catholics 1,121,516,000

Independents* 433,096,000

Protestants 381,811,000

Orthodox 233,146,000

Anglicans 82,586,000

*This term denotes members of Christian churches independent of historic, mainstream, organized, institutionalized, confessional, denominationalist Christianity.

The scattered Churches:

Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda, Growing in Grace Church Pastor, says he is God, and his followers believe him.

This isn't stuff that goes on in my church. Reverend Wright

“There is one God and one Christ, and one Church, and one Chair founded on Peter by the word of the Lord. It is not possible to set up another altar or for there to be another priesthood besides that one altar and that one priesthood. Whoever has gathered elsewhere is scattering.”

— St. Cyprian, Letter to his Clergy 249 AD.

Point well taken. Error is to be called out and condemned. There is no such thing as a church purporting to be Christian, that is accountable to nobody. They are all accountable to God.

You do, however, fail to make mention of the various, syncretist sects of Catholicism in the Carribean, Central and South America, wherein animist beliefs and pagan gods are equated with Catholic saints. Voodoo is one of them, as in Haiti. Santeria is another. All Catholic. All occult.

Even a cursory search of Grace Church/Creciendo en Gracia will lead you to exactly this region, with headquarters in Miami, and a following that is almost completely Hispanic. One has to wonder if the error of allowing occult practices within the Catholic church in that region has fostered such confusion as to follow an anti-Christ, due to such an ingrained, automatic deference to worldly authority in religious matters.

The delusion of this Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda, the leader of this sect whom you mention, can be easily put into its obvious, anti-Christ understanding, by those who have bothered themselves to actually read the Bible.

All Catholic. All occult.

Santeria and voodoo are NOT Catholic, nor are any of the various offshoots. That's like calling the Phelps's insanity Baptist.
