The Scenario:
Ever have one of those days when youre feeling full of energy and vigor? I mean, youre feeling just obnoxiously happy? Well, this is one of those days.
Driving home from work, you switch on the radio to see whats happening, and you tune in to a local Protestant radio station just in time to hear a preacher speaking against various Catholic doctrines concerning Mary. The show is called Pastor Bobs Bible Hour. Pastor Bob proclaims: Jesus knew Catholics would come along and begin to worship His mother and call her perpetual virgin and absurd things like that. But the Bible says: Is not this the carpenters son? Is not His mother called Mary? And are not His brethren James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all of His sisters with us? (Matt. 13:55-56a). And isnt it sad, my brothers and sisters?
Pastor Bob goes on to say: Jesus dealt with these Mary worshippers in His day. In Luke 11:27-28, the Bible says, A woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts that You sucked! But He said, Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!
On a normal day you would probably just listen, take a few mental notes and drive on. But not this time. Youre feeling a little bit too saucy. You take the first exit you see and head for a phone. This is just one more reason why you need to buy that cell phone youve been talking about getting.

6. Mary (Like 1:46-55) was not greater than John the Baptist (Luke 7:28).
7. Mary either never taught the other children in her own household (those she also bore from the same womb), or if she taught, was never able to convince them of the Missiahship of Jesus Christ (John 7:5).
8. Jesus Christ publicly placed all of His genuine disciples, all who would do the will of his Father, on equal standing with His natural mother. In fact, although the Holy Spirit reveals to us no instance where Jesus Christ directly addressed Mary as, Mother, he publicly declared His mother to be these which hear the word of God, and do it. (Luke 8:21)
11. After the Resurrection and Ascension of Christ, as to the record of Scripture, Mary never performed any miracles, manifested any signs, nor appeared to anyone in any miraculous way.
14. The Holy Spirit instructed no other writer of New Testament Epistles to write about Mary.
As far as the Scriptures of Truth is concerned, these points represent the emphases and the limits of the emphases of the Author of the Scripture, with regard to Mary, the mother of Jesus. Any other emphases one might wish to draw must come from extra-biblical sources; sources of mere mortals. We shall continue on with the emphases of the Bible, the word of God, and reject any other source that changes the Divine Authors emphases.

I found your whole post wonderful and Biblical.
The business about John being greater than all others born of women is denied by the Marian dogma. They brazenly disagree with Scripture on that point. And the weaseling around about it is mind boggling.
Thanks. Great, accurate, Biblical post.
I'm not sure about hatred, though some do hate her, but willfully ignoring what is instructed in Scripture happens all the time.
Read Luke 1:48 (any translation is fine), it DOES NOT simply say that the she is blessed, it says that all generations SHALL CALL HER BLESSED.
I challenge you to find a single post on Free Republic (aside from the posts of a few select Lutherans and Anglicans) where Protestants call the Blessed Mother blessed without first being prompted. I've had plenty of Protestants say, "Oh sure, we call her blessed." However, they never actually do call her blessed, they simply acknowledge it when it's pointed out.
A brazen 100% falsehood.
Bearing false witness is NOT a fruit of The HOLY Spirit.
I put him on Dwight Shrute “Shun”, I can send you a copy of the software if you like.

Maybe we can make the Petronski exception?
Did you bother to ping Petronski to this, because I didn't see where you did.
As far as I can tell you have been looking to rewrite the Religion Forum rules since you got here. I'm beginning to wonder who sent you.
In my obsrevations . . .
anything which
disagrees with the Vatican et al dogma about Mary . . . including such as in Ferro’s TEN MEDITATIONS ON THE MYSTERIES OF THE ROSARY . . .
IS CONSIDERED OR AT LEAST LABELED STRATEGICALLY AS HATE.
They seem to love to flind words like
“hate”
and
“bigot”
around as swords.
Sooooooooooooooooo admirable.

I should apologize, because it's quite possible you worship not precisely on Saturn day, but perhaps as well on the evening of Freyja day (she being the Norse goddess of love, beauty, fertility and war).
You have had your knuckles rapped by the You continue to put false words in my mouth.

!!!!DADDY!!!!! DADDY!
Brother’s looking at me again! Make him stop!
You say a great many foul things about the Romanists (Romanishists?), some of them so foul I just like to take a moment to thank God that you are neither (a) actually describing the Catholic Church nor (b) purporting to describe the Catholic Church.
That's a lot to be thankful for.
Absolutely. Also if as some Catholic theologians now contend, she is the “firstborn of every creature” (and how they harmonize that with the bible we’ll never know)and the Queen consort active in creation, then whenever “the Heavens were opened” the prophets would have seen her sitting high up there with God. No mention is ever made of her in the OT, other than as a young girl who would give birth.
Well made point.
We could label them
Standard Petronski Absurdity #1, #2, #3, #4 . . .
and save a lot of typing.
lol. Maybe FR could incorporate some software that would automatically generate a pet reply for all our posts? Never have to worry.
None of that was a quote, nor was it labeled as a quote.
lol, lol, that’s about it

You make a good point. I have never called her anything other than Mary. doesn’t mean I hate her though....heck I don’t “Hate” anyone.
I stand corrected. In 933, I used the first sentence to quote myself, in order to correct and amplify the original statement.
The way I see, it you can have it one of two ways, you do not get to change languages just to fit an adenda. Here are the choices:
1. Jews worship God from sundown on Friday until sundown on Saturday and Christians worship God on Sunday.
or
2. Jews worship God on Shabbat and Christians worship God on Rishon.
Take your pick, but I'm not going to play a game where you get to use Hebrew names of the week for Jewish observation and English names for Christian observation.
I am curious though, why don't you go onto Christian threads that have NOTHING to do with Catholics and tell the Calvinists, Baptists, Methodists, etc. that they are "Romanists" who follow pagan traditions?
The anti-Catholic information posted on Free Republic is so nauseatingly repetitive as to cry out for automated response.
