The Scenario:
Ever have one of those days when youre feeling full of energy and vigor? I mean, youre feeling just obnoxiously happy? Well, this is one of those days.
Driving home from work, you switch on the radio to see whats happening, and you tune in to a local Protestant radio station just in time to hear a preacher speaking against various Catholic doctrines concerning Mary. The show is called Pastor Bobs Bible Hour. Pastor Bob proclaims: Jesus knew Catholics would come along and begin to worship His mother and call her perpetual virgin and absurd things like that. But the Bible says: Is not this the carpenters son? Is not His mother called Mary? And are not His brethren James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all of His sisters with us? (Matt. 13:55-56a). And isnt it sad, my brothers and sisters?
Pastor Bob goes on to say: Jesus dealt with these Mary worshippers in His day. In Luke 11:27-28, the Bible says, A woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts that You sucked! But He said, Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!
On a normal day you would probably just listen, take a few mental notes and drive on. But not this time. Youre feeling a little bit too saucy. You take the first exit you see and head for a phone. This is just one more reason why you need to buy that cell phone youve been talking about getting.
Step One:

They think we worship her because they hate her so much, our veneration looks like worship in comparison.
creepy old lawyer who needs a job to keep him busy...
Judaism states that "the desire of women" was that they be the one to bear Messiah, so there were many willing. Every generation hoped for it. That Mary was chosen in the Plan of Salvation before Creation, makes her the elected one.
I didn’t know you were a lawyer.
yes, dear...
“They think we hate her because we dont worship her.”
That is silly. I don’t “hate” Mary any more then I “Hate” my earthly fathers’ mother.
You’re hitting on Judith Anne too?
That’s foul.
“They think we worship her because they hate her so much, our veneration looks like worship in comparison.”
Protestants do not hate Mary anymore than you worship her. Can you give me an example of what you considerto be “Mary hatred?”
I feel sorry for Protestants, they have to learn their own beliefs, pretend to discern the truth of the scriptures for themselves, AND learn to lie about the Catholic Church. It can’t be easy, poor things.
And that was precisely the point of my reductio ad absurdum.
This is now at least the 2nd personal comment made about Uriel that I’ve seen. Others scream “don’t make this thread about me!” in like situations, but I’ll have to do it if Uriel won’t. Fair is fair
Yep, I’ve got relatives who are just like that.

I’ve only got one. We all call her “the crazy sister.”
But that bit when he called me a False Shepherd (hey, at least it’s capitalized!), that was just the lovingkindness of the Holy Ghost, right?
Thick skins are required.
Here on this thread, the_conscience dragged over a conflict from another thread, even argued with the RM about it, stated he was referring to another thread.
The RM ignored him at the time. Don’t know if anything happened later.
Your claim seems to make very convenient use of different languages and how different cultures mark the start and end of days.
First of all, the claim about Sunday is meaningless to a Spaniard, for instance, who worships God on Domingo.
Secondly, why use the name Shabbat and not Saturday (if you are going to use the English word for a day of a week you should be consistent)? Because your argument collapses there as well because the Sabbath IS NOT Saturday because it begins at nightfall on Friday.
Christians, not just Catholics but all Christians, understand that GOD ROSE FROM THE DEAD on Easter SUNDAY. It was HIS decision to Rise on the day that Greek and Roman pagans honored the sun. Whay(sic) should we second guess His will?
You are free to deny that just as you deny the Holy Trinity. You are even free to call us Romanists (though you should also call Calvinists and Baptists Romanists because they share far more beliefs with Catholics than they do with you), but that does not make you right.
There is an error in logic called "post hoc ergo propter hoc" I don't think the Spanish name was prior to Exodus. Yah'shua rose prior to dawn on the pagan first "day" of the week, The Feast of First Fruits ---- If you were familiar with the Holy Word of G-d (Jesus) see John 1,
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
days begin at sundown and end at the next sundown.
A study of Genesis 1 with the Breath of G-d will illuminate the text.(See Exod. 23:16, 19; 34:22, 26; Lev. 2:12; 23:10, 17, 20;
--- however began at sundown "Saturday" night.
Num. 18:12; 28:26; Deut. 18:4; 2 Ki. 4:42; 2 Chr. 31:5;
Neh. 10:35; 12:44; 13:31; Ps. 105:36; Ezek. 44:30;
Rom. 8:23; 1 Co. 15:20, 23; 16:15; Jas. 1:18; Rev. 14:4)
Why would the creator of the universe celebrate
a Pagan day when He had commanded Feast Days of His own ?
Thank you. If you don’t mind, I’ll just add your points to my article.
If you ever meet Him you can ask Him why He chose Saturn's day.
Good observation.
Although for someone like Petronski who only has two or three of the same phrases he uses on every thread it would be pretty hard for him to comply.
“Thank God you’re not talking about the Catholic Church”
“Riiiiiight”
Maybe we can make the Petronski exception?
