Double pings to people are the least of your worries, forget that!

Continuing prayers for all of you.
So wrong that the insurance will pay for ‘in hospital’ care but not for the proper meds at home.

I had always understood that the generic ‘had’ to be the exact same med but maybe with different ‘fillers’. Perhaps you could discuss that with the doctor more.

Lots of prayers going on for Amanda, keep your chin up!

RE: Her Medication - Generic vs. Brand-Name

I was misunderstanding the situation — figured it out when I was at the Pharmacy. The generic is the pill she is on right now. The suspension/liquid only comes in brand-name, so that explains it I guess. The difference in efficacy I guess doesn’t make a difference to the insurance as long as it’s the “same” medicine.

Also, I guess the pharmaceutical insurance is technically a different policy than the reg. medical insurance, so that explains the disconnect in regards to covering the hospitalization, but not covering the medicine.

I understand it all now a little better, but this has got to be one of the little reasons that adds up to insurance costing so much!

Thanks much for your support! I appreciate it. :)
