No problem Anne. For every Catholic seeking to abandon a US church, the church is eager to replace him or her with a few thousand Latin American “immigrants”.

Just another mediocre actress with a pretty face. In 20 years she’ll be some plastic surgeon’s biggest nightmare.

If her faith were a river, she could wade across it without getting her ankles wet.

Sorry, I lost my head for a sec. I am just sick of these cafateria catholics. I wish they would leave.

the catholic church is not a democracy. They should form thier own church, WHATEVER FEELS GOOD DO IT.

The way of the church is hard. I fall short of its ideals all the time. I left the church for years. Rejected it. Then I went back a few years ago. It is not for everyone. It is hard being a Catholic, but I do embrace it now.

I just get frustrated with so called Catholics like Anne Hathaway. My brother and sister are the same way as her.

Rant off.

“I think it’s more like thay are applying their views to an organization, ie the church, than to God, isn’t it?”

On the surface but thats not what this woman said. Sounds more like she is turning away from God.

I guess it depends on how one interprets what she said. I try not to look under the surface of what others say, ‘cause I’m not them and I don’t know what is in their heart.

But where else would we hear about the One, True God?

Oh, I forgot. Now we look in the mirror!

"Why should I support an organization that has a limited view of my beloved brother?"

Actually, the Church views Anne's brother just like every other human soul. It is his behavior to which they object.

“I’m not them and I don’t know what is in their heart.”

From the article -
“So what religion is Anne now? “I’m nothing,” she admits. “F- it, I’m forming. I’m a work in progress.”

I don’t know what is in her heart either. We do know she says she’s nothing. People who turn away from God need prayer but they also need to be told the repercussions of their actions and not ignored.

Since the Catholic Church has, as Anne says, a low view of her brother, how does she explain the number of child molesting priests the Church employed? Seems the Church tried to include them only to be surprised by their conduct. Isn’t a Christian known for their acts versus their words? Seems like Anne wants a cafeteria religion - she chose well the Episcopals have pretty much gutted the word of God from their Church (a State Church). But they make a great high ball. Praise the Lord.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." -Proverbs 22:6

That quote from the King James version will give away that I myself am not a Catholic... but I hear and understand where you are coming from. I am from a Reform background, but find myself similarly challenged.

So what religion is Anne now? "I'm nothing," she admits. "F- it, I'm forming. I'm a work in progress."

We are all works in progress. But generally, it's a good indication that someone is on the wrong path if they say "F-it" when talking about spiritual matters.

If that’s what made her family leave the Church, then that shows that they had never really been in it. Cultural Catholics.
