Really.

There have been cults and religions set up on the premise that we “are at that day”. That “day” has been on the very near horizon for the last 2,000 years.

Are you claiming to be a prophet? Did you compare yourself (and did someone compare you to) Noah?

You are not Noah, nor are you a soothsayer or a prophet. You are a person with an Internet connection and a disturbing fixation on the End Times with a strong desire to contort contemporary news to fit scripture.

My best friend’s father has a painting of the rapture in his living room. He actually hopes that it comes to pass during his lifetime. Given his age and his imminent appointment with the Creator, it won’t. But he always had his nose in the newspaper scouring for evidence of Jesus’s return.

I generally hold the religious in very high esteem, so I am sorry if I am coming across as rude. But I see this as religion’s ugly side... the Jim Jones / Hale-Bopp side that religious individuals wield as a weapon.

There is no humanity in wishing for the End Times, and I see that aspect of Christianity as a sad little death cult.

Sorry.

There have been cults and religions set up on the premise that we “are at that day”. That “day” as been on the very near horizon for the last 2,000 years.

Did those "cults" and "religions" over the last 2000 years have sophisticated, intertwined structures around the world dedicated to setting up a one world government and actively installing that one world government? Did they have an American president elected into office who has, since he was inaugurated, worked tirelessly to sign away as much American sovereignty as he could, who has deliberately worked tirelessly to destroy as much of the American economy as he could, and who has deliberately run up a debt that is impossible to pay off, thereby setting up our dollar to fail so that the way could be made clear for a new world currency? Did those people ever have a world leader declare publicly that a global government had, for all practical purposes, been established?

It's not the same. Not by a long shot.

Are you claiming to be a prophet? Did you compare yourself (and did someone compare you to) Noah?

Now you're just being juvenile.

You are not Noah, nor are you a soothsayer or a prophet. You are a person with an Internet connection and a disturbing fixation on the End Times with a strong desire to contort contemporary news to fit scripture.

Accusations made with no evidence to back them up. Anyone who posts any kind of prophecy information will always hit a nerve and get anger spewed their way. Just realize that your opinions are not facts.

My best friend’s father has a painting of the rapture in his living room. He actually hopes that it comes to pass during his lifetime. Given his age and his imminent appointment with the Creator, it won’t. But he always had his nose in the newspaper scouring for evidence of Jesus’s return.

Good for him. Christians are supposed to be eagerly awaiting the and looking for the return of Christ.

I generally hold the religious in very high esteem, so I am sorry if I am coming across as rude. But I see this as religion’s ugly side... the Jim Jones / Hale-Bopp side that religious individuals wield as a weapon.

Jim Jones was the head of a cult, which has nothing at all to do with the God of the Bible, and the Hale-Bopp lemmings killed themselves, which is a direct rebellion against the God of the Bible. So they may have some form of "religion", but it is not Christianity and they are not people who have any association with Jesus Christ.

There is no humanity in wishing for the End Times, and I see that aspect of Christianity as a sad little death cult.

I don't know anyone who "wishes for the End Times" and the horror and death that those years will bring. Those of us who know what will happen know that God judges sin, God has always judged sin, and the Tribulation will be a time of God's judgment on an evil, sin-sick world that has rejected Him.

But it doesn't matter what anyone wants or thinks. This will happen, it is not far from happening, and the only way anyone will not suffer through it is to know Christ as Savior.

And "death cult"? I don't think so. Our God gives eternal life to those who come to Him for salvation, and gives abundant life to those who know Him as Savior right now. Those who don't know Christ are the people who love death.

Sorry.

Be sorry for yourself. You can never say you weren't told.
