No, but it appears that no one should be living on that island.

A lot of good points, I think.

Am going to pontificate on the NT Scriptures about judging in another thread, Lord willing and I get it done . . .

So much nonsense is flying through the wires on this issue vis a vis Hati.

You might say that God hates people who don’t build earthquake-proof houses.

I live in Florida, and it seems with our hurricanes, God has always hated Floridians, no matter who lived here.

By the way, this is called Biblical thinking, and people used to believe that God created earthquakes and hurricanes to torment evil doers, from about 1500 B.C. to around 1600 AD.

I am not condoning that sort of thinking, but just telling you the history and origin of it. Does Sodom and Gomorrah ring a bell?

I just know that Scripture says it will be the

WORST TIME EVER

AND THE

WORST TIME THAN WILL EVER BE.

And, I have a conviction that things will be so convoluted with so many spiritual forces and exotic weapons systems doing so many dramatic things on all sides . . .

that folks will think that the very fabric of reality has frayed beyond repair and often literally have a hard time telling which end is up or right or left or North or South or in or out.

>> He’s the One keeping it constant. It would be His decision to disturb the process, the same way it’s His decision as to when to make our hearts stop beating. <<

Ah yes, but free will can throw a monkey wrench in even god’s plans. A person can take their own life and God has no say, unless you don’t believe in free will.

Do you think everything is predestined to happen from the moment of creation or is there truly is free will?

Grace, I'll leave you to ponder God's Sovereignty over all things on this note:

“He directs the snow to fall on the earth and tells the rain to pour down. Then everyone stops working so they can watch his power. The wild animals take cover and stay inside their dens. The stormy wind comes from its chamber, and the driving winds bring the cold. God’s breath sends the ice, freezing wide expanses of water. He loads the clouds with moisture, and they flash with his lightning. The clouds churn about at his direction. They do whatever he commands throughout the earth. He makes these things happen either to punish people or to show his unfailing love.

“Pay attention to this, Job. Stop and consider the wonderful miracles of God! Do you know how God controls the storm and causes the lightning to flash from his clouds? Do you understand how he moves the clouds with wonderful perfection and skill? When you are sweltering in your clothes and the south wind dies down and everything is still, he makes the skies reflect the heat like a bronze mirror. Can you do that?"

~ Job 37: 6-18

I agree with you the end times if they ever come, (and I am a doubting thomas on if they will ever happen in my lifetime) will not be heralded by a few quakes in a earthquake prone part of the world, but will instead be clear signs and disaster that cannot be accounted for by the eyes and minds of man. When the hand of God comes down, all bets will be off on the rules of nature remaining consistent.

Setting the laws of the universe in motion is a little different than constanlt playin Whack-A-Mole with nations and earthquakes.

I thought similarly when news reports said that Obama announced that Haiti “would not be forsaken.” I personally didn’t hear those words from Obama though. But I thought “forsaken” seemed sorta biblical at the time.

I thought the choice of words very odd, also, along with ‘but for the Grace of God, there we go..’

We are held accountable for our actions and choices, but even our free will is ultimately limited by God's superceding sovereignty. God could choose to "save" the suicidal person. He could intervene for example, by sending a loving person to knock on someone's door right before they committ the act. It's a hard concept to grasp no doubt, which is why the Bible says:

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!" ~ Romans 11:33

He didn’t just set the laws of the universe in motion and then leave ita lone—He KEEPS them in motion. He keeps our hearts beating, HE makes them stop. He can remove gravity anytime He wants.

Does God Hate Haiti?

No. God hates evil.

He loves each and every one of us, no matter where we live. He wants every one of us to come to salvation.

His forgiveness is available to us no matter where we live, no matter what we've done.

John 3:16-18:
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

No, Allah is cruel...

He also plays Telephone with Pat Robertson too and explains why he does what he does and for what exacting reason. It is just that like the game of telephone Pat get’s the details wrong be he is fallible as a human being.

What if God allowed the quake to happen or caused it to kill a 100% Christian Woman who was pregnant with the future anti-Christ and it had nothing to with Vodou? How do we know, and why should we be so arrogant to presume God’s motives? Thinking we know the reasons is Hubris and the sin of Pride.

Pat Robertson is guilty of Pride and we are all sinners anyways....

Nothing in this world is lasting or secure. Earthquakes happen...blame tectonic plates shifting. No guarantees for anyone.
I guarantee we can be secure in knowing that death shall come visit us one and all.

Can God change the rulebook to? What is he decided to call off the end of Days? What if God decides to change the Bible itself? What would you do?
