Death is different from God’s point of view.
God is welcoming home those that were lost to us, and he’s there to comfort those who were left behind.
How can you post such stupid questions?
/facepalm.....
If you believe in the immortal soul then the people who have died so tragically have simply moved on the problem is our limited vision of where we currently are in the big picture God understands this we do not.
As the Eagle’s said in Hotel California:”you can check out any time you want, but you can never leave”.
Who are you, the forum deist?
Let me share with you my answer to your question — sort of my take on Job.
The Universe is a massive tapestry of majestic beauty and making, literally, perfect sense in the long run. But you have to be OUTSIDE space and time to perceive it.
We are on a spot on that tapestry. We can perceive the strands that we connect to and even dimly a few strands away (via our ability to see the world and even nearby stellar objects).
But we can’t see the entirety, since it is impossible to have the proper perspective.
This disaster is part of the entirety of the tapestry. It is part of the strands that make up the background (the Earth). God made the rules that the physical Earth and by which it operates. We get a habitable environment, food, water, resources, etc. But they come at a cost. The planet continues to grow and change, as do we all.
It is what we DO as God’s children when these disasters happen that continues to perfect the tapestry.
This isn’t “New Age” philosophy. It is a direct application of Christianity (Christ changed the tapestry and straightened the threads that were askew) to an old yet always relevant question.
I will pray for help for the afflicted and will give money for relief efforts.
I hope this helped at least a little. You can ease your heart by helping. That is what God wants from us.
The only people who died were the ones that pissed him off.
I'd be careful for the next few days if I were you.
I smell a troll looking for controversy.
Then I realized you posted only the title in an inflammatory fashion to draw us into taking a look.
The Author only asks the question rhetorically to provide the same answer we already know throughout Judeo-Christianity.
Till the close of Earths history, tragedies will continue to spill themselves over the face of the planet since Adam and Eve first fell for the Lie. But out of every tragedy, faith can lift the arm of hope toward good God. In doing so, victory is assured through the tears. Eternity will prove it to be true.
But Jesus Christ is our way to eternal life, Just pray to Jesus admit that you are a sinner ask him into you heart that you know he is the son of God, that he was born of a virgin and shed his blood on the cross, died for our sin and was buried and was resurrected 3 days later. Ask forgiveness and repent of your sins.
And he ascended into heaven and now sits on the right hand of the father in heaven.
He will return one day to set up his kingdom on earth.
Apparently you know but you won’t tell us without a word from your sponsors.
Where is God?
Last I heard he is honoring your Separation of Church and State cries.
Matthew 24:3,7 For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.

A better question might be: “How can a good God not just kill us all?”
This is the year of the great shaking..
God is with all of us. It is our choice to recognize or ignore Him.
A rather self centered question.
